Meladerm and sensitive skin?

I have sensitive skin and I've found that it doesn't take much to dry out my skin. I also have hyperpigmentation on my face from acne scarring which has made me self conscious. I came across meladerm not too long ago, and I was wondering if it actually works. I don't want to spend the money if it doesnt work, or causes my skin to become very overdry. Are there any other skin lightening products that work that won't irritate my skin?

Reply:Sounds to me like you are a good candidate for microdermabrasion. That is a process that gentle exfoliates the top layers of your skin, causing your skin to regenerate itself. Over a series of treatments it will minimize your scarring and your hyperpigmentation. Otherwise using face products that have retenoic acid or glycolic acid will lighten your skin. Ask for a sample first to be sure it does not irritate you. Finally, use a "pure" mineral foundation (so it will not irratate) to cover and even out your skin, as well as protect it from the sun--be sure to read the labels--most mineral makeups are not pure.
