Urgent - super sensitive skin (making your own moisturizer; thanx)?

my skin is so sensitive no moisturizer will help me including the one for the babies. i've heard you can make your own moisturizer of course not one that would last long. do you know anything about this?

thanx so much!

Urgent - super sensitive skin (making your own moisturizer; thanx)?
Here are a couple of links. Have you tried Philosophy products? I know many people who are too sensitive for other products, can use this. They have Hope in a Jar for sensitive skin. I loveee the regular Hope in a Jar. I would also suggest buying it from sephora.com, because you get a lot of free samples!

Deodorant for sensitive skin?
Dove makes a great deodorant that is made for sensitive skin and it doesn't leave a white residue. I use it myself and it works great!!

Under eye cream for super sensitive skin?

Hi there. I have really sensitive skin. Like if I change products, try to get a facial or attempt to exfoliate, I get a red patch with little bumps within 24 hours. I then have to go to the doctor to get a ointment to make it go away or it's there for a year. It's nuts. Regardless, I found Dr. Hauschka's line which is all natural blah blah and it's working well. However, after 5 years of using the under eye balm, I suddenly am having a reaction. Don't know if they changed the formula or what but it's just not cutting it anymore. So now I'm looking for some suggestions on alternative eye creams for sensitive skin. I always have used it more preventively...I don't have wrinkles to puff up or dark circles fade so no need for anything harsh like retinol which will destroy me! I just like slathering on a thick cream to hopefully ward it off in the future! Thanks in advance!

Under eye cream for super sensitive skin?
You should try Artistry's eye cream. All of their products are safe for people with sensitive skin. Their eye cream is awesome. If for some reason you decide you don't really like it or you would have a reaction they will give you a full refund with no questions asked. You can't buy it in stores but you can get it at http://www.adrennan.qhealthbeauty.com You can read all the info about it and see if it's what you are looking for and if it is you can buy it there as well. I hope this answered your question :)
Reply:Try Olay Definity Illuminating eye treatment or any olay product for under eye treatment. It is good for sensitive skin.

I have sensitive skin would like to tighten pores?

i just cleaned my pores and i have very large open pores and sensitive skin store bought products dont work for me (proactive, clean and clear, any brand toners, ect.) so home (simple if possible) remedies would be best. thanx

I have sensitive skin would like to tighten pores?
honey is known and i think it makes pores smaller.

Warm the honey a little then apply on a damp face. Wait 15-30 min then wash off with warm water then splash with cold to close pores and keep dirt from getting it. Do it as well when you was your skin normally.
Reply:Every two weeks take a fresh lemon or lime and and rub the juice of it in your face, do not rub it around your eyes. let it dry for 5-10 mins, its gonna itch or burn but its ok let it dry and put a moisturizer after 10 minutes, do not wash your face! Fruit acid specially Citrus acid is the best against open pores.
Reply:Try splashing cold water over your face.
Reply:What I really like is clinique's pore reducer. It's really great and hypoallergenic. I just get concerned with these home remedies because it seems like everyone recommends lemon, lime, and honey for every single problem, and they can't possibly correct them all.
Reply:1.use warm water to open pores

2.clean it well/rub it with cotton gently

3.use cold water to close pores

OR

if you just want to make pores tight, you can just dip you face into very icy cold freezing water.

Anyone with sensitive skin or eczema use a salt scrub?

I used to use Bath %26amp; Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar Salt Scrub, and it was so nice. But I think I did experience some irritation later because I now know that I have mild ezcema. It's so mild that I don't even notice anything UNTIL I get tempted to use something with fragrance or harsher chemicals, and then some dry patches appear.

So, if anyone here has found a body scrub that seems to work well for you despite having sensitive skin, could you let me know so can test it out?

Thanks : )

Anyone with sensitive skin or eczema use a salt scrub?
I love the Pomegranate Sugar Scrub by Freeman Body. You can get it at Walmart or Ulta for about $3.50. It's a little more gentle than salt scrub, and doesn't sting if you have any scratches or cuts. It's also a decent moisturizer, so I can usually skip heavy lotion if I use this. I have pretty sensitive skin, and my skin gets irritated with every salt scrub I've tried.
Reply:I break out with eczema every now and then. But not from using skin care. I take flax seed oil(nasty tasting) to get rid of it, and it works
Reply:Hi I know where you are coming from. I have found sea salt bought at the super market and olive oil mixed together are great and very cheap if there is a fragrance you are not allergic to you can add that too.Try it on your feet first and then the more sensitive areas.

Good luck!

What primer is good for sensitive skin?

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer is it good for sensitive skin. I use Bare Essential and juice beauty products only because of my skin being so sensitive.

THANKS IN ADVANCE

What primer is good for sensitive skin?
bare vitamins.
Reply:bare escentuals makes a primer
Reply:Bare Vitamins is not a makeup primer. MAC makes a good makeup primer, and so does Laura Mercier. For a cheaper one go to shoppers drug mart and there is a pretty good one by Lise Watier. I have pretty sensitive skin and I found all of these to be very good.
Reply:my mom has been using perfekt (from sephora) and she says its wonderful, she has sensitive skin too. Its kind of a tinted primer, and you can even skip foundation with it. The price is somewhat high, but she says its totally worth it.

Major skin problem...please help!..way too sensitive?

Please help…I have very very sensitive skin, whenever I shave…I end up with ingrown hair, bumps, pimples and a whole lot of unwanted redness on my face…I have tried many things...I have spent alot of money and time..…nothing has worked so far…These flaws usually end up as scars… so in addition to the above mentioned problems I have scars too….Does anyone know anything that will clear up my skin…nothing too strong please… it usually ends up causing more problems… Thanks

Major skin problem...please help!..way too sensitive?
My husband shave his face after he gets shower, because after a shower skin becomes warm and hair soft. So shave after a shower, when you are done, wait a while and use a shaving splash (if you using it). Try, it will work.
Reply:You have razor bumps. The Army orders the following to soldiers with that problem: You need to stop shaving, give the bumps a chance to heal, then start over, shaving every day so that the hair does not grow long enough to curl and become ingrown, which causes the bumps. That means a beard for a while. If that is a problem with school or work dress code, you can probably get a doctor to write an excuse ordering that you let it grow to heal the problem.
Reply:Laser hair removal.
Reply:sounds like pseudofolliculitis barbae.

any skin color can get it. the hair grows on you face at angle greater than 90 degrees in relation to the skin's surface. when you shave, the hair cuts at an angle and leaves a microscopic point that the hair grows towards, driving that point back itno the skin and creating anything from irritation to infection. multiply this by the number of affected pores on your face and you know what you're dealing with. the best treatment is not shaving. a dermatologist can often give you a waiver for work.

another solution is shaving powder, but i cant

recommend it especially with sensitive skin

Reply:Well since I dont have any pimples or anything.Just clean ure face use lotion, if u could use baby lotion it's soft and I think it will help.
Reply:there is a cream available (it is italian but lots of barber shops import it) called Porasso and it will soften the bristles before you shave - afterwards moisturize! I have sensitive skin and did not moisturize for fear of it making me breakout more - now that I moisturize I don't have near the amount of irritation and breakouts that I had before.

What is the best foundation for combination/oily, sensitive skin?

I have oily, sensitive skin with some dry parts and I pretty much breakout with every foundation I've tried wearing. The foundations made for oily skin are too drying for my sensitive, dry parts (like the ones with medications in them) and the ones for regular skin make my skin look really oily within a couple of hours. Mineral powder/foundation usual doesn't give enough coverage or gives me little pimples. Any help would be much, much appreciated!! I'm sick of having bad looking skin!!!!

What is the best foundation for combination/oily, sensitive skin?
I use maybeline powder/liquid foundation, it comes in a silver compact. Its really good, especially on top of a daytime moisteriser.

Also think more about your cleansing routine, maybe the problem lies there not in the foundation
Reply:Home Depot...any brand of spackle will do.
Reply:Hi, did you ever try a workout makeup?

They have real good coverage but don't look like too much makeup. They have a matte finish.

Clinique had a real good one.
Reply:i would try a good brand foundation that doesn't give you acne. if your skin gets oily, the quickest solution is to buy clean and clear oil absorbing sheets. 50 sheets for $5 at wal-mart.

good luck

What can I do about sensitive skin in the face area?

I'm a guy, 17. I have really strong facial hair growth very sensitive skin and a slight acne problem. I need to shave every day. My problem is that i have really sensitive skin and every morning when I shave it usually gets irritated in some spots. It'll sometimes stay red the whole day then. And also I can never manage a really good, clean shave, it ALWAYS is a bit shadowy. As for the acne, it doesn't bother me too much but any help with that one is good too.

Thanks

Waxing and sensitive skin???

I want to start waxing instead of shaving. mostly b/c in the bikini area i'm prone to ingrowns. Then in other areas it doesn't seem to give me as smooth of a shave as i'd like.

But i have sensitive skin and don't want to end up w/ giant wounds all over. What do you recommend? If not waxing any shaving tricks I should know?

Waxing and sensitive skin???
Because your are sensitive I would go to a professional but to tell you the truth hair grows at different cycles which means not even the professional is going to get ALL of the hairs. Trust me I am one of those professionals. If for some reason you had to go over another area for a second time use aloe right after and I know you don't want to hear this but try tweezing. Good luck!
Reply:umm if u have sensitive skin u shld consult a pr0fessional beautician and ask for waxing treatment..i tht u shldnt wax urself..u can aft consulting a beautician and use their method..i can reconmmend u a sg website at 88db..they have many pr0fessional beauty salons which u can trust..
Reply:Do professional waxing, it clears up the ingrown amazingly. It doesn't hurt it's just mostly awkwardness that you are feeling. I have sensitive skin too, I even went so far as to get IPL treatments, it's not as great as laser but it's cheaper, and decreases the amount of ingrowns along with the amount of growth.

Makeup for sensitive skin?

ok i have really sensitive skin and i want to start wearing makeup. problem is everything i use on my face i break out. does anyone have any good tips for a makeup brand?

Makeup for sensitive skin?
bare essentials.

it's super light and natural on your skin
Reply:My skin is really sensitive too. I cant use foundations. A little bit of powder and I'm good to go. It doesnt really break my face out as long as i wash it off every night
Reply:Clinique is supposed to work for sensitive skin and those with makeup allergies. Try talking to the people at the counters, they're very helpful in making suggestions and perhaps can give you some ideas on what to wear.
Reply:Try Physician's Formula. It's really gentle and it doesn't irritate your skin.
Reply:you should try some makeup from Clinique it may be expensive but will pay off - your skin has to get adjusted to it first, it would also help if you got clinique facial masks and stuff too
Reply:I have your same problem!! I use Mary Kay and it has always been sensitive enough for my skin. Also be sure to throw out your makeup when it starts getting old because that can make your skin messed up if you're using old makeup. But yeah Mary Kay has always worked well for me. If you have sensitive eyes the mascara is really gentle too. Oh but be sure you get the right type of foundation and such for your skin-- they have it based on whether your skin is oily or dry or whatever which helps you get the right type so you dont have skin problems! Good luck!
Reply:I'm not sure exactly what it is called, but L'Oreal has just released a new, loose mineral make-up that is especially good for senstiive skin. My mum has sensitive skin, and this is the one she just started using and it seems to be working really well, and it last all day for her.

Sorry i can't tell you what it's called, but somebody at the store would know.

Reply:I recon just use a tinted moisturiser or powder which is more drying that moist therefore not causing break outs!!! Dr Hauscka is perfect for skin care for sensitive skin! OLAY is the cheapest and best moisturiser too.
Reply:my skin is dry %26amp; ultra sensitive, too. i use bare minerals by bare escentuals, it is the absolute best make-up i've found in over 28 years. try it out for yourself at any ulta, sephora, macy's, or nordstrom store, to see, how it works on your skin, before making a decision. it may seem pricey, but the 25.00 foundation lasts me about one year. the starter kits (i prefer the "original" one at ulta) cost 60.00, and last 2-3 month.
Reply:Bare minerals is really bad for your skin because all the bismuth in it read your labels do not use anything that contains bismuth, and Mary Kay is full of fragrances and it will break you out really, really bad stay away from those. Internet search for holistic , natural products look into like bee luscious , Burt's bees is not bad but some creams are a little too heavy and may cause breaks out. Research look things up surf the net , read labels that's the best advise I can give you.
Reply:Here is a link from a determatology website about the Do's and Don't's for women with sensitive skin, it talks about what makeup to use, and not to use, etc.

Reply:I use Bare Escentuals and it is a great product. If you are on a budget, may I suggest Physicians Formula mineral makeup? It is really great AND talc free, so it should clog the pores. YOu can find it at Wlgreens, Rit-Aid, etc. Good Luck!

Reply:sensitive skin is when it dryes outt alot. if you use plain alcohol is will burn that kind of stuff. umm i dont think proactiv would hurt it bad. it might be dryed out for a few days. try clean and clear deep pore clenser. it helps lot. also many clean and clear products are made for sensitive skin.good luck

Moisturizing lotion for sensitive skin?

I'm looking for some kind of face lotion for sensitive skin. My face doesn't get too dry, but since winter is coming i know the cold weather usually dries my face out. My skin is prone to break outs so i need something that won't irritate it too bad. Anyone that can help i'd really appreciate it! Thanks!!

Moisturizing lotion for sensitive skin?
I have sensitive skin too so I use NUTRADERM. I've been using it for a few years now, it doesn't have that greasy feeling and doesn't cause breakouts. I love it, you would fall in love too. I got it at my local drug store but im sure walmart would carry it.
Reply:Try Ahava. It is from Israel and can be purchased on Ebay. It is awesome!
Reply:I use Aveeno and it works well for me. I live in Alaska and have oily t zone area.
Reply:I hear you. While I was perusing a $35. tiny jar of Oil of Olay stuff, at Sam's Club, my eye drifted and came upon a large jug of something called Genes, Swiss Collagen Complex, for..........Under $6.

I thought this worth a shot and I have found it to be a class A moisuturizer.

It is cheap enough to use all over. I (Norton; not a guy) use this after I shave my legs. I use it on my hands feet face and elbows.

Im an Irish redhead prone to allergy. Not any problems.
Reply:eucerin is what they tell people that have eczema to use because their skin is so sensitive. try that.
Reply:Try Mary Kay's Intense moisturizer. It will not clog your pores and is hypo allergenic. If don't have a consultant, try my web site

Reply:Try Cetaphil. I use this one; it's great for sensitive skin and it's noncomedogenic so it won't make you break out. You can find it it any drugstore and it's a little on the expensive side (around $10-12) but the one I have has lasted me for months.
Reply:I have very sensitive skin and my face always gets dry in the winter. I've been using Arbonne's facial moisturizer and am very happy with it.

Arbonne Intelligence Daily Moisturizing Cream, Day %26amp; Night- This lightweight moisturizer delivers as much or as little hydration as the skin needs, without feeling greasy or dry.
Reply:Aveeno is the best and take it from me I'm only 11 but i have a skin disease!
Reply:Aveeno %26amp; Eucerin are good, but, why dont you try proactiv? It works WONDERS against acne and breakouts, but the lotion that comes with it moisturizes, wont let you feel greasy and heals pimples... Its magic!!!!

Is Suki facial skin care products ok for sensitive skin?

I recently learned about the Suki brand of facial skin care products. I often get red skin when I use products so I'm wondering if anyone with sensitive skin has had success with this brand? Here is where I learned about the brand: http://www.lilou-organics.com/scripts/br...

Would appreciate good and bad feedback as I'm looking for a moisturizer for the winter months.

I have super sensitive skin. what's the best facial scrub for my face?

my skin is so sensitive that if i touch my face, the oils in my figner tips damage my skin.

I need something that can wash away the grime and deep clean my pores. I always have ingrown hairs and always have alot of breakouts. I also need a good shaving cream.

I am going to walmart for these things..so something widely available would be great.

I have super sensitive skin. what's the best facial scrub for my face?
I have sensitive skin too ( maybe not as sensitives as your), but I use St. Ives apricot scrub, which doesn't irritate my skin and for shaving cream I use Aveeno Ultra-Calming shave gel, this really works well. And you can buy this at Walmart %26amp; other stores.
Reply:I would recommend using a product like Ultra Shave as a post shave moisturiser. It has wonderful skin healing properties and contains grape seed extract which is 15000 times stronger than vitamin E. It's has completely natural ingredients and is Parabenz free.

Always shave with a new, sharp razor blade and shave slowly. Do not shave the same area more than once. Use a shaving gel to reduce friction between the blade and your skin.

The Body Shop has a great Tea Tree foaming face wash.

Ultra Shave is not available in Walmart to my knowledge, but it's worth ordering via mail order.

I have sensitive, acne-prone skin thats very light. Any1 know a foundation thats not cakey & hides blemishes?

Looking for a foundation that's oil-free, won't cake and streak. and covers blemishes well. Also, preferably one for sensitive skin that hides redness. I tried covergirl clean but couldn't find my shade (i have really fair skin), also tried covergirl continuous wear but again it was either too light or too orangey. Looked mask-ish.

I have sensitive, acne-prone skin thats very light. Any1 know a foundation thats not cakey %26amp; hides blemishes?
Your best bet is to see a dermatologist and get the acne cleared up; acne covered up with makeup just looks like acne covered up with makeup.

As for the makeup, if you get a shade that is too light, buy the same kind in a darker shade and mix until you get the perfect match; you may need a third container in which to do this. I'm done this a number of times over the years rather than throw away a color that doesn't match my skin tone; save $!
Reply:Have you tried Maybelline Pure foundation? It is pretty sheer, so unfortunately it won't really hide blemishes, but because it's light, it shouldn't aggrivate your acne, and it's pretty gentle on the skin. I wish i could recommend something more, but this kind is the one i've tried. You may want to check out some products by Physician's formula too, they make things for sensitive and acne prone skin too. : )
Reply:i have light skin too! i use bare minerals.. and it works great.. they are like one of the only ones that has a foundation that matches my skin tone.. the color is called fair. it works great because it stays on all day and doesn't really cake and covers so well. using an oil free moisturizer or even the stuff you can buy from them to apply before you use the bare minerals helps it work even better.
Reply:i use covergirl's liquid-to-powder foundation.

its not a liquid, but its not dry powder.

it hides everything really well, and with the right shade it blends in perfectly without looking cakey.

its in an dark indigo blue/purple oblong plastic case thing and has a little "cg" at the bottom. my fave stuff ever.

hope i helped!

Reply:I would suggest you consider an all natural mineral makeup. I would stay away from bare minerals as it contains bismuth, a known skin irritant. It will cause issues with your blemishes. We found that out the hard way when my daughter broke out from it. You also want to stay away from any makeup that contains fillers like talc, cornstarch or rice powder, ingredients that do absolutely nothing for your skin.

My daughter and I use kms mineral essentials. It is an all natural makeup. We have been using it for over a year since my daughter's dermatologist reccommended it. It contains zinc oxide which acts as a healing ingredient. It also contains kaolin clay which is a great natural oil absorber. (my daughter uses the foundation plus the mineral veil as the veil helps in absorbing the oil even more than the foundation. This makeup lasts all day and then some. It is sweat/water proof, has built in sun protection, and gives us that flawless airbrushed finish.

The concealer works wonders at covering blemishes, uneven skin tone and the dark circles under the eyes. If anyone knew what we really looked like underneath! It is amazing that a makeup that can do so much feels feather light and doesn't cost us a fortune.

You can find kms on their website; www.kmsmineralessentials.com.

Good luck!

nope it means you have oily skin
Reply:sensitive skin means that it dries out really easy and you get red bumps from the dead skin.If you have acne-prone skin, then proactive would be perfect.
Reply:While the two coincide, having acne-prone skin does not necessarily make your skin sensitive. If your skin is indeed sensitive, you would notice reactions on your skin other than your face to products that you come into contact with in your day-to-day life. Do you have contact allergies (skin rashes from touching certain substances)? Have you broken out in rashes at various times in your life? If you answered these questions "no", then I'd say it's safe to try the Proactiv. Just try it slowly, and if you see any irritation, discontinue the use. You could also try the product on an inconspicuous area of your skin.

Pimples on dry and sensitive skin........?

its not like i have lots of pimples. its like i have 2-3 pimples . and when these pimples go off.... i get another 2-3 pimples. so its like i have atleast 2-3 pimples always! i want to have a totally clear skin without a single pimple. and the worst part is , my skin has become very dry and sensitive because of me using constant acne treatment. so now i cant even use some drying product to dry out these pimples. and when these pimples go , they leave dark mark. not scar but a mark. how to get rid of these marks fast, like in a week. and how to bring back my skin to normal state and have no pimples???????

Pimples on dry and sensitive skin........?
So, tell me what you consider is a 'normal state' for your skin? lol Try to think a little realistically. Its no wonder your skin is drying out. This is a defensive response to you overdrying it. Youve in all actuality caused more damage to your skin by overwashing. Most suffers from acne experience a clear up with normal washing and treatment. Just remember it tends to clear up over time. Seems your acne is not all that problematic. So why are you trying to add to the problem? Youre going to make it worse. People get so fixated with their acne that in their pursuit of getting 'rid' of it, they actually flare it up. lol...wash it no more than twice a day, avoid overuse of alcohol on the skin, use only harsher treatments when you have a severe flare-up. Bottom line..if your skin doesnt stay in balance with normal care...then its time to see the dermatologist. I bet a pretty penny youre doing ALOT to aggravate the condition, and not much to CONTROL the acne. If acne PIMPLES , (yes..the red inflamed type of acne) seems to be a persistent ongoing problem for you, then maybe you need antibiotics, or steroids which reduce inflamtion significantly. A good credited dermatoligist will know what your skin type will respond to best. By the way...check out colon cleansing products. Build up of toxins in our bodies is a prime suspect of acne production. Acne can sometimes be very complex, and therefore, very frustrating at times. With an educated mind, a little patience, and expert guidance you'll be okay.
Reply:go with something that cleanses and also moisturizes your face also exfoliate your face every 2 to 3 days..also for the marks, seems like you are picking at them if you are leave them alone, and if you are not they are probably drying up like that and leaving marks because your skin is dry..
Reply:Proactiv really does work-- and now they have a formula for sensitive skin (that would be safe to use on your dry skin!). They have amazing products, and things like the sulfur mask and spot treatment (when used in conjunction with the normal products-- cleanser, toner, and repairing lotion) should clear up those pimples. They also have makeup that is great, and it medicates while it conceals. If you can afford it, get the proactive system, as well as some of the extras, and your skin should be clearer in no time.

Reply:use spectro ance gel for sensitive skin and drink tons of water
Reply:This is what I do:

Mix baking soda and witch hazel/or water together until it comes to a good constancy, and then spread on your face and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. these two things are very inexpensive and it's very easy to do since there is only two ingredients.

Toothpaste is good for drying out your pimple (for some people). Put only a little bit before you go to sleep. Some people use this as a mask but DON‘T EVER DO THIS! It can change your skin tone and make your face discolored.

Aloe vera helps scars lighten and less noticeable (lemon, cocoa butter, witch hazel, and tea tree oil do the same thing). Use the gel (of the aloe plant) or the real thing.

Try to buy a cleanser that works for you, and when you wash your face, open your pores with hot water (not too hot, or it will dry out your skin) and massage it gently into your skin. Then, use cold water at the end to close you pores. The smaller your pores are, the less likely you're prone to pimples. Clearasil, Neutrogena, and proactive are good choices to start if you want a cleanser. Don't use body soaps because they dry out your skin. Don't scrub too hard either, because it can irritate your skin.

An egg yoke can be used to make you pores smaller. I used this when I had pimples. Just take the egg yolk (the yellow part) and leave it on your face for 10-15 minutes and rinse off with warm water and then splash your face with cold water.

Keep your hair out of your face because the oils in your hair could go into your pores. Change you sheets because they're are trapped with dirt, oils, etc.

Zinc (type of vitamin) is the one of the best things you can use to get rid of pimples. You can buy these almost about any large store (such as Wal-Mart or Shaws.) Have one tablet per day and try to cut down the junk food and replace it with vegetables and fruits. Drink lots of water and don't pop you acne. Popping acne can lead to acne scars.

If you have sensitive skin, don't use make up. Some of the things in make up can clog your pores and cause pimples. Keep your hands out of your face as much as you can because you hands a full of bacteria and oils.

Acne product for sensitive skin?
Hi!

I actually found a facial oil that slows down your skins oil production, clears up pimples/ acne and dissolves black heads within 4-8 weeks I put all the info on my blog as it's quite detailed:

http://beautymoi.blogspot.com/

I also put a full article of how to extract blackheads and steam your skin.

Black heads are basically a hardened oil mixture that was secreted from your pores and oxidized (which makes the outside part black) and since water and oil don't mix, no water based product can "clean" your blackheads away, just try say putting certain foundations or makeups on the mirror and if you wipe it with water it smudges all over but put a little baby oil and wipe and tada! it comes off super clean AND dissolves it. So this is basically how this oil works. It's composition is such that the skin accepts it as a healing oil and it does not clog your skin but rather protects it while the plant extracts inside go down into the pores (this absorption is made possible by applying the toner to the skin before applying the oil and then applying the dabs of oil over your moistened face), it then penetrates into the pores.

I put where to the name of the oil and prices in stores versus on eBay as well as how to apply it on my blog:

http://beautymoi.blogspot.com/

Also you may want to Google Drying Lotion by Mario Badescu.

Take care and good luck!

Reply:When you go to buy all these different acne lotions the mildest ones are as good as the strongest Some of the well known makes come in different strengths What you should consider if it would be better for you to have your doctor prescribe an antibiotic as it is more effective to clear the skin from the inside out if you have a problem with sensitive skin Also look at your diet try more fruit %26amp; veg with lots of water less salt and snacks cut out milk as its full of hormones
Reply:The best acne products are made by Bee-Luscious. Their Medicated Acne Package is the best!!! They use several different ingredients to combat acne instead of just one (benzoyle peroxide) like the other companies. It also has moisturizers to combat the dry and red skin issues you have had in the past!

Clean and Clear uses the same ingredient as ProActiv and Oxy! So if the other two didn't work then neither will it.

Reply:Fo sensitive skin use topical niacinamide and topical copper peptide to counter inflammation. take note that this needs to be combined with antibacterials like benzoyl peroxide and azelaic acid to increase the effectiveness.

Good concealer for sensitive skin?

I have pretty sensitive skin, but I naturally have really dark circles under my eyes. Concealer is the only makeup I wear, but I've been searching for one for years that doesn't make my skin itch. I've tried Physicians Formula, Almay, Neurtrogena, Clinique, Cover Girl, Maybelline, Rimmel, Max Factor-- and everything makes my undereyes itch. Is there anything else anywhere that might work better? I've heard about water-based makeup. What's the deal?

Good concealer for sensitive skin?
it sounds like you are having an allergic reaction to something in the product. it may be a dye. but its hard to know. if you have a sephora near you tell the people in skincare NOT cosmetics that you have very senstive skin and reactions to makeup. they may be able to give you somehting that will actually treat your undereye circles and not just cover them up.

undereye circles mean you have blood that is trapped there and is not circulating properly. some products can actually promote blood circulation and decrease circles.

there are also a few makeup lines that are good for people with highly senstive skin

They also do have concealers.

I can use the pressed powder, and the loose powder. But, I can't use their eyeshadow. It bothers me. But, I can use their gold dust power for the eyes.

Good facial product for sensitive skin?

My skin is very pale and although it is not prone to blemishes, it is very sensitive to the cleansers and moisturisers I've been using. My skin displays reactions varying in severity to many brands and types of products (redness, rash, drying) and I'm sick of it. I've tried everything but my temperamental skin hates it all!

Has anyone had this problem and what products have you found that work?

Try to wash your face with olive oil. It is a bit greasy but it really does smooth skin. Just put on oil with your fingers and wipe off with a very soft cloth.

I have tried this and my red blotches have disappeared.

A lady somewhere near 70 came in to where I work and I had to ask her what her beauty secret was since her skin was radiant. I thought she was in her mid 50's and she surprised me with her real age and with the fact that she learned from her grandma this beauty trick.

Help with shaving sensitive skin?

My skin overall is kind of dry but not really that sensitive, but when I shave my legs I ALWAYS get cuts. I soak my legs in hot water to make them softer, i use shaving cream, soap, and tried veet hair removal stuff which i hated because it made my skin red and rashy. I tried every kind of razor and half of them don't even give you a long lasting shave. But every time, my legs seriously get little nicks and red dots on them and bleed and i do it slow, i just really don't understand it. Sorry for typing so much, haha if you have any help i would really appreciate it, thanks!

Help with shaving sensitive skin?
There's a 3 step process listed on the webpage link below. This works really great for me!

1. Run your legs under warm, not hot water. Using a washcloth, gently wash your legs with soap. Rinse.

2. Use the Pre-shaving Scrub recipe listed on the site. It's easy to make, smells amazing and works even better! Gently massage all over legs. Rinse.

3. Slather on some shaving cream/gel. Shave with a good razor, like Venus Breeze(which actually doesn't need cream and you can barely feel the razor!) or Shick Quatrro, a less expensive option.

Finish with the Olive Lotion recipe for a soothing, nourishing end.

Hope this helps you!

I hope this helps you!
Reply:I bet you didnt know Hairy legs were in style
Reply:Try to use some baby oil after you shave
Reply:first DO NOT soak them in hot water i repeat DO NOT! it will only make them more dry, trust me. Instead use lotion. Next time you shave use a clean, new razor that's specifically made for sensitive skin ( I like Venus) and I know this sounds strange at first but shave with lotion! it really works and makes your legs uber-soft! =) good luck!
Reply:I have this same issue...I use VEET to shave my legs. It is a creme that you apply to your legs and you then use a

"razor" that comes w/ the VEET. You let the creme set on you legs for about 5 mintues..then "shave" it off. It works great and does not smell bad. Also, then apply lotion. Hope this helps!!...Also, use a little bit of olive oil on your legs after you shower...it makes your skin smooth.

Care for sensitive and oily skin?

i am 15 and i got realy oily and very sensitive skin. i am a redhead and have freckles so i have enuff to be selfconcieus about without acne or oil on my face. is there anything advice yall can give me so i can get a more smooth less oily skin. my face and neck are also sorta red and i really want to get rid of that to? please help...

Care for sensitive and oily skin?
Do you have overproductive sebaceous glands, which are responsible for oily skin? The good news is this skin type is generally slower to show fine lines, wrinkles and discoloration. The downside can be more frequent breakouts, large pores and a greasy appearance. The following steps can minimize the negative effects.

Steps:

1. Stick with the basics: The experts suggest cleansing your face two or three times daily with good old soap and water. Pack a premoistened cleansing pad if you won't be around a water basin throughout the day.

2. Understand that dermatologists and aestheticians often disagree on which types of soaps or cleansers to use'but all agree that once you find a product that works well for your skin, you should continue using it.

3. Follow the recommendations of dermatologists and shower or bathe in tepid rather than steaming-hot water. Hot water can strip your skin of needed moisture, while cold water can shock your skin.

4. Avoid using cleansers that tend to overdry skin. This paradoxically causes your skin to produce even more oil than usual.

5. Use only noncomedogenic moisturizers and sunscreen products'this means they're oil-free and won't clog pores.

6. Talk to your dermatologist about a class of drugs called retinoids, which reduce production in oil glands and shrink their size.

7. Keep in mind that oil glands are very sensitive'stimuli such as hormones, heat and (some say) fatty food can trigger them.

8. Remember that your efforts to keep your oily skin clear can only go so far, as some studies indicate that oily skin is hereditary.

You have stated that your skin is not only oily but is also very sensitive. If so follow the followig schedule for taking care of the over sensitiviy.

Care for sensitive skin

If you've found that your skin is reacting to some skin products and showing signs of irritation or redness, you probably have sensitive skin. Read on to find out how you can stop blotches and irritation.

Choose makeup, moisturisers and sunscreens that are hypo-allergenic and fragrance-free.

Minimise the amount of products you put on your face.

Don't overwash your face (i.e. more than twice a day.)

Don't use exfoliants.

Use an astringent on oily areas only, but discontinue if redness occurs.

Use a mild, soap-free cleanser.

When choosing make-up, especially foundation and blusher, buy oil-free products. Make-up that is water-based and non-comedogenic (non-pore clogging) is the best option. There are also oil-absorbing foundations that help keep oil off the face.

Use a daily sunscreen that is not oil-based, preferably a gel, as it's less greasy.

Be sure to use a minimum SPF of 15.

If you have breakouts, use a cleanser with salicylic acid to help exfoliate pores. Salicylic acid in moisturisers can also be beneficial.
Reply:I am also a red head with lots of freckles. YOU HAVE TO TRY PROACTIV!!!!! IT'S AMAZING...MAKE SURE YOU DO EACH STEP EVERYNIGHT AND YOU WILL HAVE WONDERFUL SKIN
Reply:See a Dermatologist. The best way to get rid of oily skin is to wash it constantly with cold water and a bar of soap (ivory bar).
Reply:I would suggest to you ProActive, but i'm not sure about the sensitive skin. Something from ALmay maybe.
Reply:i suggest going to the store and buying

pads that clean blackheads..

they also dry up the skin without overdrying.. also.. in the middle of the day take some water and pool it in your hands then throw it on your face then towel dry..

goodluck man
Reply:cleanse your face on a daily basis with a mild facial wash/ cleanser... (ex: biore- available in drug stores but any brand can do...) make sure u choose the ones that say sensitive and oil skin..certain cleanser can make your skin too dry thus creating even more oily skin... so read labels carefully...
Reply:check out www.acne.org, its the easiest way to get valid information and help you decide which products will be best for your face.
Reply:I have sensitive skin and see a dermatologist. Maybe this will help you.

I like using Biore's triple action astrigent for my oily skin and I've noticed that I only have to use it once a day because it basically stops my skin from being so oily.

You might want to try tea tree oil if you ever develop acne.

If you want something really drying (for sensitive skin and it's not bad at all) use the Neutrogena bar of soap. It's less than a dollar. The liquid form is also great for getting read of oil.

Face masques will also help shrink those oil glands of yours. I use Queen Helene Masque: Grape Seed Extract but I recommend that you use the Mint Julep. It's a favorite among acne prone folks.

I recommend that you see a dermatologist. For your reddening skin he or she will give you a cream to get rid of it. If you have insurance, the visits will be completely covered. I think you will also be treated with a laser to get rid of the over oil production you have going on (your oil glands will be shrunken).

By the way, I just have to mention that I hate ProActive with a passion. It bleaches cloths and did nothing to my acne. %26gt;=O
Reply:I am a licensed Esthetian and I hope the info I give is helps you. If you are cleansing too often or using a cleanser with the wrong ph balance, you cause you skin to be too dry. The oil glands respond by producing more oil-endless cycle. One, wear only mineral make up like Bare Essentials, Jane Iredale.....Two, buy a professional skin care line specific to your skin. Its expensive but well worth it and lasts much longer than store bought crap. Pevonia has a sensitive cleanser that is great or you might even try products targeted to rosecea because they are made to be very gentle and healing.

I hope this helps.

Redness for dry sensitive skin?!?

i'm 18 and i have great skin, even before i was on birth conrtol. Its the dry sensitive type. But lately ive been breaking out alot and i have red dots everywhere! And its definitly not my diet because i hardly have any sugar and i'm usually pretty healthy, so i'm really bummed and stumped.

What i'm asking is do you have any suggestions for redness and clear skin?

Redness for dry sensitive skin?!?
i personally have never used any of Aveeno's products, but i know someone who uses them because she has roseca(its when you are dry and itchy all the time) they are all natural and are suppose to be good with dry itchy skin. They have facewashes and facial cremes. Along with primrose tea oil capsules that helped me when i had really itchy skin from acne medicines. You can find these oil capsules at a health food store
Reply:Some of the ingredients in body care products cause contact dermatitis - for example, redness, burning, itchiness, hives, blotchies, pimples, acne, blackheads and increase the severity of pre-existing skin conditions such as acne and eczema.

See if any of these common allergens are in any of your body care products, including shampoo, conditioner and make-up. I don't know why we can't post links anymore, but these are links to federal research studies. Just copy both lines and reconnect at the line break if you want to go to the resources for my research. Propylene Glycol -

In certain medicines, cosmetics, and food products, propylene glycol acts as an emulsifying agent, industrial drying agent, surfactant, and solvent. It has been shown to cause contact dermatitis in sensitive individuals.

http://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/

csem/egpg/propylene_glycol.html

Sodium Laureth Sulfate -

When rinsed off, the product will have cleaned the area but will have taken moisture from the top layers of skin. In people with sensitive skin (prone to dermatitis, acne, eczema, psoriasis and chemical sensitivity), the drying property of these type of detergents can cause flare-ups of skin conditions or may worsen existing conditions.

http://en.wikipedia.org/

wiki/Sodium_laureth_sulfate

Cocamidopropyl Betaine -

Cocamidopropyl betaine (CAPB) is a surfactant, and reports of allergic contact dermatitis to this chemical have been reported in the literature. Although most commonly found in rinse-off products, the chemical nonetheless has been shown to induce allergy.

Triethanolamine -

A total of 54 positive reactions were found, 23 of which were clinically relevant, triethanolamine being the most frequent sensitizer. Patients with emulsifier sensitivity generally give a high prevalence of positive patch tests to other common ingredients of topical preparations, such as preservatives or active ingredients.

Help with sensitive/spotty skin?

Even though I'm 30 and have never had particularly bad acne, I do have very sensitive skin and still get frequent spots. Reply:Hi Sam,

first you need to soften the water you are using. Water from the taps in most of the UK is very alkaline, due to limescale. Get some porridge oats in a leg of an old pair of tights and place them under the hot tap. The oats will soften the water and reduce the alkalinity.

Next you need a good natural skin cleasnser and one I recommend is Palmarosa face wash from nealsyardremedies.com

When your skin is red and dry, apply pure aloe vera gel to the affected areas 2-3 times daily.

Savlon is made from soap and is very alkaline.

You may want to start drinking nettle tea. You can find it in shops like Holland and Barrett. It tastes a bit "grassy" but it can be sweetened with a tsp of honey. The nettle tea will help to flush out the impurities in your body causing the spots.

Any problems just email me.

Marcus
Reply:try E45
Reply:Instead of just washing your face with water, buy a gentle facial wash for sensitive skin like Simple to use once or twice a day, depending on how greasy your skin gets. Its perfume and alcohol free so won't harm your already sensitive skin. Get a wash that doesn't have exfoliating beads in because these scrape dirt off of your skin so will make it more sore. I would use a more gentle cream for your face, savlon may make it worse and it is quite greasy so won't help your spots. Go to a pharmacist or doctor and see what they can do for you.

Good luck
Reply:Savlon is very drying for skin (I use it to heal up new tattoos). It will be ok for use directly on your spots but don't use it as a moisturiser. To have good skin it all starts from within so make sure you drink at least 2 litres of water per day, tea, coffee and fizzy drinks do not count towards this but herbal teas and fresh juices do. Up your intake of fresh fruit and veg - smoothies are great for boosting your intake. It will take about 4-6 weeks to notice a difference but believe me you will notice.

Get into a good cleansing and moisturising routine - a daily non perfumed moisturiser first thing in the morning (ask in your local chemist what would be suitable for your skin type), a gentle facial scrub to get rid of dead skin cells - personally I find facial wipes a godsend as they are not too drying (I too have sensitive skin), and use a night cream before you go to bed.

Most of it is trial and error as to what cream suits you, but stay away from the savlon.
Reply:my skin is similar to yours and the things that have made a huge difference are, olay sensitive non-comedogenic moisturiser, simple cleanser or facial wipes, not just water or dirt will clog in your pores and freederm gel which really brings out any bacteria that is under the skin. It also helps to bring out the white head from existing spots super quick, which is great because they can be very painful. Drinking as much water as you can and eating as healthy as possible definitely makes a big difference too. only use savlon on individual spots occasionally when they are healing as it is too drying. And most importantly of all don't worry, as stress too can have an effect, so chill out, laugh loads and watch them magically fade away!

They are excellent for sensitive skin that tends to turn red (like rosascea). It should dramatically decrease the amount of redness within one week. They also have an anti-aging line and a "Clear" line for acneic skin (with pimples). The Intelligence is fine for oily skin too. At the website you can find a local person to help you decide what/how to order when you type in your zip code. Another good book to check on is "Don't' Go to the Make-up Counter without Me".

Shiseido may be good as well and Jurlique is a bit more expensive but their products are awesome too. I especially love "C-cream" with Calendula and Vitamin C.

Reply:my personal opinion after dealing with bad acne for years is that all those cometics wont do much to stop the oil. As you may already know acne is also caused by excess oil (just much more than you are describing). most acne products dont work because they only treat the outside oil- unfortunatly the oil comes form under deep in the skin. Therefore the topical solutions only work to a minamal leval. The most effective products that stop and often almost cure acne are dervitives of Vitamin-A. I take 50 - 200,000 ius a day of vit A ( i dont recomoend these risky quantities) But it cured my acne. I had it horrible now i may have one very smal zit at the worst. Vitamin a is a marical at stopping oil. Read aobut it and its toxcicity online. Then decide if and how much you want to take. Remmeber Vit- A is proven to dry the skin. Scientifically 100%. I think it can help to dry your face form the inside whithout damagaing and irritating it the way cosmetics and cleansers often do. Start off small and give it some time and youll be looking and feeling great.

Hi, you would know if you have sensitive skin. If you put a product on your face that didn't agree with it you would break out really bad or get some kind of rash.
Reply:If skin products make your skin burn or feel rough and dry, you have sensitive skin. Use unscented mild soaps without artificial colors like Neutrogena and use Almay products.

You may want to start drinking nettle tea. You can find it in shops like Holland and Barrett. It tastes a bit "grassy" but it can be sweetened with a tsp of honey. The nettle tea will help to flush out the impurities in your body causing the spots.

Any problems just email me.

For women: does Nair for sensitive skin...?

work alright for REALLY sensitive skin? I really hate shaving, and thought of waxing ..... no. I need to find someting different, but the last time I tried regular Nair it didn't go so well. But now there's this new Nair for sensitive skin, it sounds almost promising. But I want to know if it will really work for my skin.

For women: does Nair for sensitive skin...?
I have sensitive skin too, and used Nair a long time ago and It didn't work but a couple of months ago I bought some Nair w/ baby lotion and something else and to my suprise I waited the 3 minutes and off it came, no problems at all, in fact my razor is now collecting dust... ha ♥3

good luck!
Reply:Nair has never worked for me, but if you really want to know your best bet is to get some and put on just a tiny bit on one 1"x1" patch of skin and then after its done rinse it off and WAIT for 24 hrs, then check for rash. If You don't have problems then it will probably work for you. but I suggest not doing the bikini area....
Reply:NO! It gave me little red bumps all over my legs and it took literally months to get them off. Don't try it. It doesn't even remove hair. And yes I followed directions.
Reply:Are you talking about Nair Pretty? I use that and it usually works extremely well. Since you have sensitive skin, you will want to test it on a patch of skin first. Nair might leave some stubble, but if you leave it on long enough, you will beautiful smooth legs in no time!

Need help for super sensitive skin?

Need help for super sensitive skin?
Neutrogena Sensitive Skin sun block is good stuff, but it's not waterproof or anything. Aubrey Organics makes a good toner for sensitive skin, and they have a moisturizer and cleanser that goes with it. Here is the Aubrey's website.

http://www.aubrey-organics.com/categorie...
Reply:Sunscreen I can't help you with, the zinc used to block the sun's rays is probably what is making her break out. Have her look for zinc free concoctions. Can you get Neutragena products? Their entire line is made for extremely sensitive skin.

As for toner, if her skin is that sensitive she probably shouldn't use it at all, too drying and too likely to cause rashes.

If dryness is ever a problem have her wet her face and then rub a drop or two (no more) of olive oil (pure cooking olive oil). It takes a few minutes to soak in, but works wonders. The great and beautiful Italian actress Sophia Loren recommends it and when my skin gets very sensitive I have found it works wonders.

Good luck
Reply:There are many brands made in American like Neutrogena that make wonderful sunscreens and they work well on super

sensitive skin because they are hypoallergenic (usually don't cause rashes, breakout, or irritation). I have sensitive skin and I use Neutrogena Sunscreen. There are also various types of good toners out there for sensitive skin, as well, made by Neutrogena and Almay, for not just sensitive skin, but all types of skin. All Neutrogena and Almay products are highly recommended by many U.S. Dermatologists because all of their products are hypoallergenic. Sothys is an upscale brand that is made in France that makes an excellent toner, but I am not sure whether that company makes a sunscreen. However, since you say that money is not a problem, you might want to take her to a Dermatologist (skin specialist) in India (or England) and have skin specialist diagnose her so he/she can prescribe what he/she thinks is best for her super sensitive skin.
Reply:i would suggest Asia topao Biotech product. this is medical grade collagen skin care. and bioequa-nanojet.

email to me if u want further information.
Reply:Hi,

Check out www.nefertari.com. I use their products and I get "personalized" advice from a licensed esthetician. I usually contact them via email and have sent them close ups of the trouble areas (oily skin, acne, black circles under the eyes etc.). I get very good advice and some samples to try before committing to the whole tube of junk that may not work. The company is based in U.S. but websites are global!

good luck.

Mascara and eyeliner for sensitive skin?

My skin isn't majorly sensitive but some mascara's can sting my eyes so are there any eyeliners/ mascara's around just for those with sensitive skin?

Mascara and eyeliner for sensitive skin?
take a look at some organic lines at the organic store - not sure about mascara but I know they have lipsticks, etc.
Reply:Kiss Me Mascara and Eyeliner
Reply:First off you should avoid waterproof cosmetic products. Use of waterproof cosmetic products will cause a problem for sensitive skin

You should use only black-colored mascara and eyeliner products because black color has least allergenic

Remember to not use any old cosmetics products because they become contaminated and spoiled.

Some essential oils for sensitve skin are Rose, Chamomile, Sandalwood, Lavender and Neroli.

51% of women and 38% of men have sensitive skin. And I am one of the young ladies that have it!!

Good Luck on finding a good product my dermatologist recommended Nature’s Drug Store. Which has a website: naturesDRUGSTORE.com

Acne help for EXTREMELY sensitive skin?

My skin in EXTREMELY sensitive and i cant find anything to help get rid of the acne. I have already tried proactive and nothing from the store shelves such as biore or clearisil etc. works for me. I also tried some of my sister's benzol perixide stuff perscribed from the doctor and it was terrible with my sensitive skin. I haven't tried any type of pill though and i am wondering if anyone knows anything that may work for me. Also i get acen in the "t zone". My cheeks don't break out. Thanks!!!

Acne help for EXTREMELY sensitive skin?
I take amoxicilan/Minocyclin-(Pill) works great for sensitive skin i also take retin A Cream also doc prescribed.
Reply:what about oxy and if that doesnt work get perscribtion stuff like fougera or differin
Reply:I used proactiv and it works for me, but if you wanna try it, I used to put alcohol on my face whenever I got home from like softball practice and before I go to bed, and left it on there all night, (its going to burn, but it's going to work). Then when you get up in the morning and go to wash your face and put on makeup, then put a moustrizer on right before you do your makeup, and it will put some oils back in your face, so its not dried out, it works use it!
Reply:Try this soap (although it's more of a cleansing bar not really soap) called "Basis" or there is another one called "Lowilla". I have extremely sensitive skin and both worked good to keep my skin clear. You could also try the "Aveeno" bars and lotions - they are made with mostly oatmeal and will not flare up your skin. I think if you use of these special sensitive skin "soap" and the Aveeno lotion in combination - it will calm your skin down. You can also try using Witch Hazel for a toner - that is a natural substance, not manufactured. I would start with just keep your skin clean and moisturized for now. You may want to visit an allergy doctor and be tested. Sometimes food or enviornmental allergies can cause acne - and this could be another way to treat it besides putting something on your face. You could also try taking antibiotics for your skin - by seeing a dermatologist (not a regular doctor). Tetracycline is a popular antibiotic given to clear acne. Good luck!
Reply:I've had that problem when I was younger, but now after having kids, it has cleared up. Maybe someday yours will, too.
Reply:benzol proxide dries your skin to much. You might want to look into Arbonne. They have a 45 day guarentee. I know people who loved proactive and love this sooo much more. It is botanically based and great for sensitive skin. I have sensitive skin and excema.. they are all I can use!

And I have always had thiss like crop of whiteheads underneath my bottom lip there not visible unless I pull my lip up but there still anoying they have been there for many year. What are they and how to get rid of them!

Could my skin just be really really sensitive?
Quit playing with your face, wash often, have clean sheets - especially the pillow case.

See a dermatologist
Reply:You should go see a doctor. I used something that broke out my skin really bad, so I went to the doctors and they told me which products to use for my skin. Maybe a deurmatologist can help?
Reply:i used to have the SAME EXACT PROBLEMS AS YOU. what i used/use to control my acne is pretty simple. In the beginning, when it was really bad, i washed my face with Clearasil acne clearing scrub. After most of my bad pimples went away, i started washing it with oil of olay foaming face wash. its really gentle and wont upset your skin. for spot treatment creams, try clean and clear persa gel 10. its the best one i've ever tried, and believe me, i've tried a lot of creams. good luck :)
Reply:I'd really consider seeing a doctor so

you can benefit from the right treatment

and get rid of it once and for all. There

are so many different products that

would clear it up without further frustration

and searching for the right cure.
Reply:ask a dermatologist coz they can give you the facts about you skin.. n treat whatever is needed..
Reply:you no my skin has been very sensitive all my life i have been using alphahydroxy foaming face wash for years and no soap and i tell you i have not had one pimple in years also it would not hurt to go see a dermatologist they can help out really good i also have rosesatia that's red spots on your cheeks so i use metrojel on that area works great good luck.
Reply:Make sure you're using oil-free products, and try products that say they're made for sensitive skin. There's a L'Oreal three-step acne fighting system that works pretty good, but the lotion it comes with can be very drying (especially for sensitive skin), so only use that lotion at night. But use the facewash and toner twice a day, and in the morning follow with an oil-free moisturizer that also fights pimples, such as Clean %26amp; Clear dual action moisturizer. You won't see results for about a week or two, but if after two weeks you still don't see your skin clearing, go see a dermatologist. He/she may prescribe you with Accutane, which is an oral medication for serious cases of acne that you take for about six months which I believe slows down the oil production of your skin. It works miracles, but can have bad side effects such as major drying out of the skin. It has also been linked to depression though, so make sure you talk to your doctor about that. Good luck! :-)

Yes... many things can turn sensative skin normal and normal skin sensative and this can fluxuate over a lifetime. For instance diet has an effect, age has an effect, allergies, overall health, even where you live can effect the sensativety of your skin.

I would suggest doing some research and seeing a dermatologist to find out if there is anything you can change to help you. Sometimes all it takes is a change in diet or a vitamin. My stepfather had a similar problem and so he did just that, changed his diet and the problem is gone.
Reply:that's called rosacea. Look it up. My mom has lupus and she used to get it on her face. But she is older now, it hardly ever happens, unless she goes into the sun. (Even for just a few minutes.)
Reply:I have always had it. I can never wear cheap jewelry. But in someplaces it has gotten tougher. Like wear my poant bottons sit.

Best foundation for fair sensitive skin??

I have very fair, and sensitive skin and I am looking for a really good tinted moisturizer/ sheer foundation that I can wear without irritating my sensitive skin. Hopefully someone has some answers! Thanks everyone!!

Best foundation for fair sensitive skin??
bare minerals by bare escentuals is the absolute best make-up i've found in over 25 years. my skin is dry, fair, and super-sensitive. it is the only brand recommended by the national skincancer foundation, because it is actually good for the skin %26amp; has a natural spf 15. check it out for yourself at any ulta, sephora, macy"s, or nordstrom store, to see how it works on your skin, before you buy.
Reply:Try bare minerals
Reply:Mary Kay Tinted Moisturizer Ivory 1.

Let me know if you need a consultant.
Reply:High-end and recommended by most dermatologists is Clinique. For a drug store product that doesn't cost as much Physicians Formula or Almay.
Reply:LORAC!!!

Reply:You need the Liquid Mineral Foundation by Bee-Luscious Cosmetics. It is oil free and does NOT contain any bismuth. Bare minerals has both of these in their ingredients. This product is hypoallergenic.

Good acne treatment for sensitive, oily skin?

I have oily skin, but it is also very sensitive. I have been using Proactiv for awhile, but it is expensive and I think it is a little harsh on my skin (although it does a pretty good job of clearing up the acne).

What products should I try that will work well with sensitive skin by still take care of the oil and blemishes?

Thanks.

Good acne treatment for sensitive, oily skin?
Actually diet has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with acne. It is caused by fluctuating hormones.

If you like proactive there is a product that has the exact same ingredients and same regimen for use but is WAY cheaper. It is called acnefree and you can get it al Wal-Mart. Check out the website www.acnefree.com.

Also, if you are a woman, I would ask your dr. to test your androgen levels. If these hormone levels are too high they could be contributing to your acne. There are prescription drugs like YAZ and Diane35/Dianette that can help control this problem.

Good luck!
Reply:any product which have glycolic acid
Reply:water is the best thing. chemical is the last thing you want around your body
Reply:I HAVE THE SAME SKIN!!try biotherm,it really worx!!!
Reply:um ya stick with proactive. i love it. you should too.
Reply:Yeah proactive but I find that the Lush pink face soap does the same thing. I is less expensive and tottaly natural. I have had girlfriends use it and say the same you'll need to find a good toner and moisturizer to match your skin there but belive me it is awsome. They will know what you want if you go in and ask for the pink face soap. It has tea tree oil and really fine minerals that really dig deep and detox
Reply:Hi there, I'm gonna be a little harsh but please don't take offense... Do you eat with your face (meaning do you touch your face while eating) You need to be careful when eating greasy foods(pizza, fried chicken,etc...) Keep in mind that diet and family history plays a big role to all acne sufferers... Also don't forget about that stage in life we all go through pueberty.
Reply:When I was a teenager I had the same skin. I thought that if I used harsh, medicated soaps, that the acne would get better. I probably just made it worse, though. I would suggest just washing with a regular facial cleanser, not medicated. I actually just use Johnson's milk baby wash on my face because it is so gentle. Then, to clear up the acne, just apply a dab of an acne mask (or another product designed to spot clear acne) to each spot at night, then gently wash it off in the morning. That should help to dry them up. Wash your face with the gentle cleanser twice a day. Also, a big problem contributing to acne can be dirty pillow cases and blankets. Make sure to change to a newly washed pillow case every couple days. And wash any blankets that touch your face often.
Reply:Try clean and clear for sensitive skin I've used it and it works, I have also used Avon sensitive skin products (and oily skin products too), Noxema works great in the winter if you are outdoors a lot especially if your skin gets really dry in the winter. Good luck! Just watch for salicylic acid which helps aid in the drying up of acne. I've also enclosed a link to cleansing skin without buying expensive cleansers too. Hope this helps!

Reply:I have very sensitive and oily skin. Clinique has a good skin care line, as well as make up that doesn't seem to clog my pores. I also us Differin Gel perscribed by my doctor. I found that it was harsh and dried out my skin too much, but I figured out that if I used it immediately after I get out of the shower %26amp; use a bit of water to thin it out it works wonders. I can't survive without it, and by thinning it down a little it last much longer which is a very good thing since it is a bit pricy.
Reply:use salysic acid stay away from benzo peroxide
Reply:Sea buckthorn oil is brilliant at helping heal %26amp; prevent lots of bad skin problems..... I get mine from here... http://www.rosacea-remedy.com - although the website is selling it as a rosacea treatment it's still pure sea buckthorn oil and most other websites i've found, only sell heavily diluted sea buckthorn.

It's also used for healing burns, exzma , as a natural rosacea treatment, scar prevention, acne treatment, anti-aging (is packed full of anti-oxidants and vitamins) and all sorts of other conditions. It has some incredible and rare chemical properties which you can read about here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_bucktho...

It's so potent %26amp; is currently being tested in labs for the potential benefits it may have in healing cancer also. Amazing stuff and what's great is it's 100% natural - no chemicals at all.

Reply:Studies show that an estimated 80 % percent of people experience acne at some point. No one knows exactly what the cause of acne is, but there are a few theories.

Let´s take a look at 7 of them:

1. Acne normally begins between the ages of eleven and thirteen.

This is true in both males and females due to changes in hormone levels. These hormones, called androgens, will enlarge the facial glands. The oil produced by the glands is known as sebum. The hair follicles shed dead cells too quickly and the cells and sebum form a blockage in the gland.

2. Pressure and rubbing from tight garments.

Adult with acne should avoid tight-collared shirts that might irritate the acne further. Adult athletes may notice an outbreak of acne from equipment such as backpacks or athletic helmets.

3. Acne can also be caused by genetics.

Studies have shown that a family history of acne can affect whether you have acne and the severity of it. So if your mother or father had acne as a teen, chances are that it will be a contributory factor to the cause of your acne.

4. Factors linked to women

Women have several factors that men don't that can be linked to the cause of acne. Women go through several phases of life that cause their hormone levels to change. These changes can cause acne in adult women between two and seven days before their menstrual cycle.

5. Pregnancy and hormones

Pregnant women also experience a fluctuation in hormones.

Those who may have previously had little or no acne may see pimples during their pregnancy and for a time after the birth of the baby until the hormone levels return to normal.

6. Menopause and hormones

Menopause will cause changes in hormone levels for woman and can be a cause of acne. Women also tend to wear heavy makeup when experience an acne outbreak, which only worsens the problem by further clogging pores.

7.Stress.

Especially in adults, stress can be another cause of acne. When you are stressed, the hormone cortisol is produced.

Cortisol will worsen any acne you already have. To prevent stress-related acne, try relaxation and meditation.

Some adults experience acne from picking at blemishes on their skin. You should never pick at or squeeze a pimple, blackhead or any other blemish on your face.

This can only cause more acne and possibly an infection. When cleaning your face, avoid harsh facial cleansers(they cause the creation of more sebum) and scrubbing your face too vigorously.

Acne treatments

The sad part is that most of the acne products are sold over the counter for treatment.

Most over-the-counter acne treatments are topical and come in the form of a cream, soap, lotion or gel.

Acne products normally contain benzoyl peroxide (good for killing the bacteria and possibly reducing oil production), sulfur (helps eliminate blackheads and whiteheads) and/or salicylic acid (cuts down the speed of cell lose).

More severe cases may require prescription acne medicine that is topical or oral.

Oral acne medication can help reduce both the growth of the bacteria and inflammation of glands.
Reply:like what was said, chemicals should be the last thing on your mind....because of your sensitive skin.... you should try to make an ice cube from clean(and if you want you could use a mineralized) water. after that lightly scrub that on your face. it really takes care of the oil and some blemishes would go away after a week or so.. it really works.... me and my friends use it...
