Bad sensitive skin?

I have sensitive skin which tends to get better than worse with products. It gets dry very easily and tends to break out alot. What can i use? like clean and clear cleanser for sensitive skin. Just some brands and stuff. I live in Australia so products available here would be great. Thanks

Bad sensitive skin?
I live in Australia too xD

Anyways go to Priceline and ask one of the staff for help!

They helps heap, they know EVERYTHING about skin, makeup and hair care! I love them xD
Reply:I don't know where you are up to in terms of age. I'm 26 now and continue to have similar problems. Skin is tricky because the anti-bacterial lotions and potions for acne tend to be drying and irritant which makes you scratch causing even more trouble. Similarly the sunscreens and concelers we end up using are also problematic. I'm yet to find a simple answer to this quandry.

If you are still in your teens/early twenties or you haven't already been, I suggest you go to your doctor. The pill (certain types - your pill may be making things worse) or an antibiotic can regulate mild to moderate cystic acne. If these fail, a dermatologist can offer a much more potent oral or possibly topical treatment which has more side effects but is extremely effective in the cases which don't respond to the initial therapies. I used this treatment in my teens to heal up some pretty nasty acne on my back. I still get a lot of break outs and have sensitive skin but its a lot better.

Regarding over the counter products, I wouldn't necessarily recommend the products I'm using currently as they don't seem to be working so well. The active ingredients to look for on the side of bottles are benzoyl peroxide and salacylic acid which have been shown in trials to be of benefit to those with acne.

By the way I am a doctor - you may or not want to believe that and I wouldn't take my word for it from some random person over the internet. I don't have all the answers and am definitely not in anyway an expert in dermatology. I am very frustrated by the cosmetic industry which twists its data and tries to offer things it may not be able to deliver or backed up by any real data. I don't want to unnecessarily medicalise your problem but I thought I'd just let you know of what medical treatments are available in case this was not an avenue you had considered.

I hope this helps some how. If not, be comforted that you are not alone.

Does having sensitive skin mean that I can easily get wrinkles or age faster?

I was born with sensitive skin, so I've lived with sensitive my whole life. What are the cons of having sensitive skin? Does this mean that I can get wrinkles or age faster?

Does having sensitive skin mean that I can easily get wrinkles or age faster?
no its actually the opposite
Reply:Si, well, not really having very light skin will make you age faster.

lol peace
Reply:Just take care of it well!! every one's is different so pay attention to it closely
Reply:No. Just means you are sensitive to certain products and have to be careful what you use on your skin. It won't age you faster. The best thing you can do to stop wrinkles is use sunscreen.
Reply:No,lighter skin won't make you age faster, nor will sensitive skin.
Reply:no. but it may be prone to skin allergy
Reply:wrinkles or age faster %26gt; No way.

It is more or less like allergy
Reply:You know oddly ive found that i appear to be aging alot slower than i should im 23 yet i pass for 16
Reply:Not at all! I do to some degree, and a friend of mine does very much. The benefits are that we take much better care of our skin, and now, at the ripe old age of 30, I still (annoyingly) get ID'd at bars while my mid 20 something year old sun worshiping friends don't. Love it hon - embrace it!
Reply:Answer #2 is right, if you have light skin it makes you age faster. Stay away from the sun. A few years ago I saw this program about how harmful the sun is, an image I will never forget. They showed a monk (stayed indoors most of his life) and a lady (she has worked outside most of her life selling fruits at a stand) both were 80s. His skin was like that of a baby's bottom, and her's was very damaged. I keep away from the sun as much as I can.
Reply:Well, in my opinion, the only 'con' of having sensitive skin is that it may put you off using products on your face in case of reaction, which in turn could cause you to neglect your skin, hence causing premature ageing.

However, just having sensitive skin doesn't necessarily mean you will get wrinkles or age any quicker than someone with normal skin. It really depends on your lifestyle (eg, if you smoke, if you are a sun worshiper etc) as to how quickly your skin will age.

There are quite a few product houses that do good ranges for sensitive skin. One of my favorites is the 'Elemis' range so try them out if you can!

Hope this helps!

Best foundation for sensitive skin that is actually good for the skin?

I have sensitive skin so I don't actually put on makeup a whole lot. I've tried some high-end foundations but either the colour didn't work or the formula irritated my skin. I've tried Lancome but they are usually pink-toned whereas I am yellow-toned.

Does anyone know a foundation that is actually good for the typical sensitive skin? like you can use it long term and it actually looks after the skin as well.

Best foundation for sensitive skin that is actually good for the skin?
My wife has sensitive skin and uses a product called Bare Minerals. She seems to be satisfied with it. I think it looks great. She did not start to wear makeup until she came across this product because of her sensitive skin. She is also Asian with fair skin.
Reply:MAC foundations are great.

This is the one I use http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/pr...

Its great and blends with my skin really well. I'm Asian, somewhat fair.
Reply:OH GOSH. BAREMINERALS. its sooo nice on your skin. it only costs like $25. its a powder and doesn't look cakey or weird..
Reply:Bare Minerals is absolutely the best for sensitive skin or any kind of skin. I am yellow toned too and 58 years old. Their make-up makes my skin look fantastic.
Reply:MAC
Reply:The best foundation for you is Mary Kay's medium -coverage foundation. It is suitable for sensitive skin, it is oil-free, it is non-comedogenic, and dermatologist tested. It gives a smooth flawless finish look and it controls excessive oil. If you would like to receive more information, go to my 360 and click on my blast. God Bless.

Skin irritation/very sensitive skin?

My oldest daughter has always had very sensitive skin. Her skin always gets irritated when she wears any type of jewellry. After a day of wearing her watch, her bracelet, necklace or her ring the skin under the jewellry is always red bumpy and irritated. We have bought her jewellry all in sterling silver (she prefers silver), and none of her jewellry is costume. She has tried using vaseline under them, a barrier cream, putting nail polish inside the bracelet/ring, and nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any suggestions of what she can do. Thanks

Skin irritation/very sensitive skin?
same thing happens to me. do not wear anything with nickle in it! stainless steel is good or 24 carrot white gold. a lot of jewellery will say nickel free. also try putting clear nail polish on her jewellery sometimes this works for me.

Sensitive skin and vinegar?

I am 37 weeks pregnant. My upper stomach skin (not internal) is extra sensitive to the touch. Sometimes it hurts for my shirt to rub on it. It is just below my zyphoid process and travels along the top of my uterus. Like I said, it is all external, not internal. Anyone else have sensitive skin like that? What is it?? I have looked EVERYWHERE and can't find anything on it. Also, does anyone know if some types of vinegar are bad for you if you're pregnant. I know some have naturally occuring sulfites in them. I also can't find anything on this topic, so I was just wondering if anyone knew about these things.

Sensitive skin and vinegar?
According to my partner who is a nurse, your skin is sensitive because the skin as well as the nerve endings are being stretched especially during the last few weeks of pregnancy. He says it's more common than you would think. He suggests applying some form of topical anti-itch cream that contains lignocaine. It's absorbed into the bloodstream in case you're wondering.

He has also heard about the vinegar danger; but he can't elaborate. He says it's just one of those things he's heard about.

Does anyone have sensitive skin & use Avon skin care products?

I have been using Clinque for years now. I have very sensitive skin and have found that most moisterizers tend to break me out or cause a rash. Clinque has worked great, but I am on a budget now, and I am seeking something cheaper. I have tried Aveeno, Oil of Olay, etc., in the past. They do not do well with my skin. I was wondering if anyone with sensitive skin had used the Avon skin care products before? How did your skin react to the Avon products? Would you recommend them? Thanks in advance for any advice/help.

Does anyone have sensitive skin %26amp; use Avon skin care products?
Avon products are good for sensitive skin but you wont get any results.

Mary Kay is great for sensitive skin, no fragrance or alcohol, and you will get results the first time you use it...it really is the best!!! Its a little bit more than Avon but def not as much as Clinique
Reply:I've the same trouble like you. I haven't tried the product of Avon, but I use Olay Total Effect 7 without perfume. It does good to my skin. If you decide to use Avon, can you tell me the result?
Reply:The problem is that not all skins react the same to products. I have very sensitive skin too and I cannot use any moisturizers at all. They all break me out. Avon products are good and inexpensive. I suggest that you use them and see what happens.

Reply:I can't tell you but i do think it is 100% guaranteed if you want to give it a try. I would be happy to send you samples of Mary Kay if you are interested in try it. I have sensitive skin and I have a customer that can't even use clinique and is fine with Mary Kay classic line.
Reply:Sorry, I have no feedback on Avon but wondered if you had tried a UK brand called Queen? It's a very old company which specialises in sensitive skin products. I have found them really helpful and their moisturiser is fantastic (and cheaper than Clinique). The only problem is they are mostly mail order altho' they tell me they are going to launch online shopping in the next few months. Website is www.queen-cosmetics.com. Also, please please do be wary of all these 'natural' products. Sensitive skin does not need to be subjected to an array of oils and essences - it needs the simplest products possible. I have had awful reactions to products which claimed to be natural and hypoallergenic. Good luck with your search.
Reply:My husband is an independent sales rep. So I use the products and believe me I have sensitive skin. It's one of the best in my opinion they have the anew line which is really great! It's one of his biggest sellers and I use it too. They even have it in different age groups for different types of aging problems. He has an online store the address is http://www.youravon.com/dpiland can contact him through his site and he can add you to the email list to be notified when items your interested in come on sale.
Reply:I have super sensitive skin and I have to stick strictly to Ivory soap. As far as skin care my skin does well with Oil of Olay but I have used Avon before and it didn't seem to cause me any problems.

I don't know if i have sensitive skin or not!?

It's been said that most people with sensitive skin don't even know they have sensitive skin. The thing is... I do have rosey cheeks but I odn't know if that's the products. I've always had rosey cheeks so I don't know..

the thing is, I don't think I have sensitive skin.. but I might? It might explain why when I tried clean %26amp; clear continuous acne face wash my skin got super dry and irritated super fast!

Should I just buy the sensitive skin products from clean %26amp; clear instead? clean %26amp; clear definitely cleared my skin up, but it was just too irritating. So should I get sensitive skin care products?

I don't know if i have sensitive skin or not!?
Finally, at the age of 40, I figured out what my problem was....sensetive skin.

I also finally figured out how to treat it.

Basis soap for sensetive skin every other day.. it's kind of hard to find, but usually sav on or rite aid has it where you would find acne bars.

But the biggest skin saver has been to wash with Head and Shoulders shampoo every OTHER day. This tip was given to me by the nurse at my dermatologist. Works wonders...no more redness, flakiness, burning, etc.. you don't need any other products.chemicals. for make up , the only thing i can use is Mary Kay.

Sensitive skin tips?

anyone got any good tips for my skin....

its very sensitive and breaks out in spots pretty much when i use anything but baby wipes on it! (even sensitive skin lotions etc...)

Sensitive skin tips?
I have extremely sensitive skin, and have learned that when I'm in the shower, I cannot let any soap get on my face, but more importantly, I do not let any hot water get on my face either. It makes it ultra-sensitive if I do. I have to turn the water over to cold to wash my face and I only wash it with water. In fact, at the end of the shower, I use cold water to rinse all over to keep from breaking out.

I don't use any creams or lotions on my face either, and use hypo-allergenic makeup. I have to experiment with makeup that has moisturizer but most Almay products are pretty gentle.

Good luck.
Reply:This is a very nice, simple, soothing, cooling and moisturizing mask that can be left on skin overnight: Mix a few drops of jojoba oil with a few teaspoons of pure aloe vera gel. It can look funny since the amount of the mask is quite big but don't worry. It will soak in very quickly and your skin will love it. Jojoba oil is anti-inflammatory and won't break you out since it's a liquid wax instead of an oil. It's very good for your skin just like aloe vera gel. They are a very effective and simple and therefore gentle combination. This is a natural mask and you don't have to worry about the bad ingredients in many commercial masks (preservatives, fragrances etc)

Sensitive Skin Problems???

So I have sensitive skin, but mainly on my legs. But really bad!

I've always shaved, afraid that any other hair removal method would irritate them worse.

Shaving gel (sensitive skin) makes my legs break out (I look like I have hives!!!)

Using a disposable razor makes me break out....and non disposable too!

I've heard of using conditioner? Tried that.

Nothing has given me positive results.

Only using Dove and letting my legs air dry sometimes works.

Sometimes even using Dove I still break out.

I hate it. It's such a pain because I break out most of the time I shave. Sometimes I don't... if I wear shorts or wait to put lotion on my legs until the next day.

It's awful!

Any TRIED and true solutions?

Thanks!

Sensitive Skin Problems???
I don't shave my legs but I thought I would throw my two cents in (plus I wanted to reach out to you 'cause you posted such a nice answer to my question). Have you ever tried Kiehl's products? I have a crazy sensitive face and their shaving cream is the best I've found. It's a little bit expensive but it's so worth it. I found some ladies shaving cream on their website:

http://www.kiehls.com/_us/_en/body/ladie...

Their entire product lineup is great. I've got a bunch of their shaving stuff and their lotions. It can get a bit pricey but I think taking care of our skin is worth the extra cost so I never buy anything else. I was just out last weekend and I bought a bunch of different kiehl's stuff to "stock up" for winter (I really don't feel like running out in the middle of february when it's freezing).

anyway, I hope this information helps. I wanted to e-mail you and tell you how much I appreciated the answer you left for my question on depression but your e-mail address is hidden so I figured this would be the next best thing. I've been having a really hard time lately so it really means a lot to have so many people respond to my question. it helped to know that even though I don't have anyone to help me in the "real world" there are people online that can lend a hand.

Anyway, thanks again for everything and I hope you give kiehls a shot. I don't know where you're at but if you can find a retailer near you that carries their stuff then you could probably go down and get some free samples...that's how I got started.
Reply:waxing would be better but it is expensive. i have the same problem. i used the schik quatro and it seems to work good for me, better than razors with only 3 blades. whatever you do, DONT USE NAIR it will be terrible it made my legs bleed after having it on for only 2 minutes and burned really bad
Reply:Have you tried Arbonne products? They seem to help a lot of folks with difficult skin irritations.
Reply:The problem could be your razor. If you had it for a long time bacteria starts to build up and then can go into your pores causing breakouts. You could also be allergic the lubricant strips that some razors have on them. Try 1st changing your razor and changing it often so you don't give the bacteria enough time to build up. Also try using cuticurra soap or lotion - it will help with the breakouts. I used the soap on my face for a slight acne problem I had and it was better than any acne product out there. My dermatologist told me about it - and its cheap!

GOOD LUCK
Reply:Have you tried Aveeno? That's the only thing that I can use. My skin is highly sensitive too.
Reply:well it would be good to visit your doctor who will direct you to a dermatologist

also try this

the aveeno sensitive skin oatmeal bath

its very gentle but helps the skin alot and i know ppl who have used it and said it relieved the dryness alot

perhaps the metal on your razor blade is giving you an allergic reaction; a friend of mine got allergic reactions from the metal in ur earrings

go get allergy tested, ask your doctor you will get the best answer

dont use nair its horrible for the skin, and laser woudl just burn so will waxing so for the most part you can use aveeno and in the mean time ask your doctor for a prescription

good lucK!

Sensitive skin below eyes and on the nose! Solution?

Why is the skin below my eyes (on top of the cheekbones) and on my nose so ultra-sensitive?

Whenever I sweat, while exercising or playing any sport, the continuous band of skin just below my eyes and on my nose burns like hell due to sweat. It proves to be quite irritating, and a minor distraction occasionally.

Any specific remedies? I have tried some creams/Vaseline and lotions..they do not soothe at all; sometimes these creams worsen the itchy, burning sensation.

PS -

1. I don't wear spectacles. Thus friction due to speck-frame is ruled out.

2. My facial skin is fairly smooth; slightly on the oilier side. Get a few blackheads occasionally. No acne, pimples.

Sensitive skin below eyes and on the nose! Solution?
Try putting the lotions on before you start exercising or playing a sport. You probably have sweat dermatitis. You aren't allergic to your sweat but it brings out the things you are allergic to because it makes your clothes wet, for example.

Sweating can also be the trigger for an allergy.

Sensitive skin and acne?

I have sensitive skin that can't handle clearsil, neutrogena, and products like that. All they do is make my skin very dry and painful. I don't want to try proactiv because it's very expensive and seems very harsh. Because of those things I had to use lotion for my skin which made my breakouts worse!

Sensitive skin and acne?
The very best line of skin care available for acne/sensitive skin is PHILOSOPHY. I wasted a a lot of time and money on dermatologists and drugstore skin care systems, nothing helped until I tried Philosophy. I began with Purity Made Simple face wash and Hope in a Bottle acne lotion and I saw improvement in less than a week. Order from QVC.com and you will have a money back guarantee.

My facial skin turns sensitive after a makeup session .?

Hi Guys ,

My skin dries off and started to peel , redness and itchy on whole face . I have been going on doctor's medication , but the thing just come back on and off and it costs me alot of $$. Can anyone suggest a good cleanser found on the market which suitable for sensitive skin ? How to get rid of sensitive skin problems ? Another problem is that i need to meet with my client very often , so putting up makeup is necessary . Could anyone tell me if there is any makeup product range which is specifically meant for sensitive skin users without causing irritants ?

Thank alot .

My facial skin turns sensitive after a makeup session .?
Ok, the reason why your skin turns red is because you're allergic to the make up. So stop using it right away!!! And for sensitive skin, the most you can do is to use an Asian (preferrably Japanese) cleanser found in any Asian store. And don't use anything that turns your skin itchy!! If you get red and blotchy skin, do not put anything on it for about 3 days, and it should heal.

For makeup, I ALWAYS use department store make up, like Chanel, Dior, or Shu Uemura. I know it sounds really expensive, but it's worth it. Drug store make up is made of cheap stuff, and can irritate skin much easier than good quality make up. Also, you have to get good applicators. Clean your brushes and change your sponges once a week. That way, it would always be clean and fresh to use, which is essential.

After a long day, I like to ice my face and eyes with an eye pack from Crabtree and Evelyn (is that right spelling?). That helps get rid of itchiness.

But remember: the only REAL way of getting rid of sensitive skin is dont put anything on that you think would make it sensitive.

good luck :)

Dogs with sensitive skin?

i have a lab and pitbull mix he is more lab then anything pics below so u can see but he has very sensitive skin he was loosing his hair and his skin seemed irritated so i got worried and took him to the vet and i ended up putting him on advantage multi for dogs which covers heart worms , kills fleas as well as treatment and control of intestinal parasites and i was also told that it would help with mild skin problems everything was fine afor about three months untill i ran out and had to wait a few weeks to get him some more but i noticed that he is losing hair again on his back you can litterally keep pulling it out it really worrys me becasue i saved him from deaths door when he was a pup and i promised him that he wouldent be neglected so i got him some more advantage today and im hoping that does the trick plus i have a coat and skin suppliment to go in his food but has anyone every seen a dog with sensitive skin like this and is there a reason for it ?

Dogs with sensitive skin?
I'm having that problem with my cat my vet said its allergies or a thyroid problem he goes to the vet Wends. Vet said he needed to do a blood test to find out for sure. The vet did say a throid problem normally includes weight loss. Is he losing weight too?
Reply:Yep, I've seen lots of sensitive dogs.

I have one myself.

Here are some tips:

Corn, wheat, soy, milk, chicken and beef all cause skin allergies. Check the label on his food AND treats. Skip ones with any of these ingredients. Look into Innova EVO. It's doing great things for allergic dogs.

Other good ones:

California Natural, Wellness, Canidae, and Artemis. All have websites.

Consider 2 different meds for fleas. Again, this worked wonders for my allergic dog. Put Advantage on, then 2 weeks later put on Frontline (or Revolution), then 2 weeks after that, Advantage will be due again. From now on, every 2 weeks they get alternating flea treatments of both drugs. Does that make sense?

Treats count.

You could feed the best food out there, and it's pointless unless you feed good treats too. The dog should eat NOTHING unless you have read the label first.

You don't mention what supplement. California Natural Skin and Coat Formula works wonders. www.naturapet.com for more information.

Ark Naturals is a great site for holistic/herbal remedies for pets. www.arknaturals.com

Good luck
Reply:I have a little dog with sensitive skin, he is really allergic to

fleas and when the weather is warm, even with monthly

flea treatment, his back and butt get really irritated. I give

him a Benedryl tablet in the am and pm (wrap it into a

piece of jack cheese) It seems to help him with the

irritation and keeps him from rubbing himself raw.
Reply:Poor baby. I'm not a vet or anything but I love dogs and have three. It sounds like he could definitely have a flea allergy since you say that while on the advantage the problem improved. Those few weeks that you were late with it may have been enough to allow him to pick up fleas again resulting in another allergic reaction. The best solution is probably to make sure that you aren't late with any of his advantage doses. I do think you should talk to your vet again about this tho to make sure it couldn't be anything else that could harm his health or put him in danger. I'm wondering if it could be mange, which would need veterinary treatment, but that is not likely since the advantage helped. Just make sure you don't overdose him on the advantage because it is a pesticide, which isn't exactly the healthiest thing to put on a dog, person, etc. But you don't have much choice, especially if it's a flea allergy. You may also ask your vet, if it is an allergy, if he thinks benadryl would help the symptoms at all. Btw,I have heard frontline plus is a safer choice than advantage but not sure if that's true. I'm glad your pup found you and that he's in a good home with someone who cares. Best of luck with his healing.
Reply:Fish. My dog has a severe flea allergy dermatitis, and our vet said any fish high in omega3 fatty acids will help and it really does. Use a cat food - not every meal, but 3 or 4 times a week and watch your pooch's hair grow back.

Keep using the flea treatment too, cause one bite from a flea will restart the cycle of itching and biting.

Nivea Visage sensitive skin range ?

Hi I would just like to know if anyone finds this make in the nivea range any good, I have sensitive combination skin and basically I am allergic to everything I use on my face except just water, but my skin is really paying for it now, I have tried clinique and other expesive products and irritate my skin even more that other I have tried.

I have used the nivea gentle cleansing wipes in the dry and sensitive skin range and find these to be really good, but im looking for a moisturiser even thought these do 3 in,1 cleanse tone and moistures, I dont think its the same as doing each one seperatly.

I notice they do a sensitive frangrance free cleanser and moisturisers now , are these any good and do you notice and improvement after a while of using these.

Thanks for your help.

Nivea Visage sensitive skin range ?
Hi, I'm a teenager, 14 years old and I have used the nivea blue line, It was a little drying even though I have combination skin too and I was scared because the Refreshing cleanser had sodium laureth Sulfate and it is known to be a harmful toxic and is known as a carcinogen. So I started using the pink line, the sensitive skin and it's great! The cleanser leaves your skin soft and leaves you with a clear complexion. The toner is so soothing and is gentle.. It is great for eliminating impurities but I think the Rich moisturizer is a little greasy for my skin because I but on too much so I put on really little. The thing I love about the whole line is that it's all aloe vera and chamomile! Great for oily skin.. The funny thing is that I don't even have sensitive or dry skin and I use this line..

P.S. Sorry for all the grammar mistakes, it's late at night :D
Reply:If you have sensitive skin, do not use facial washes or soap; instead use a light, hypoallergenic cleansing lotion. Use a moisturizer to strengthen your skin and provide a barrier against irritants. Make sure you use an non perfumed moisturizer, which will not irritate your skin.check out http://tipsfromruby-skincare.blogspot.co...

Puppy's With Sensitive Skin... What Can I Use?

I'm getting a puppy and the mother (Australian Silky Terrier) of this puppy has sensitive skin. The father is a Bichon Frise and I am not sure if he has sensitive skin. So there is a chance my puppy will have sensitive skin as well and as a precaution I am going to use Dermaleen to start with but Dermaleen doesn't have a flea treatment in it so what is safe to use on a puppy with sensitive skin to prevent fleas? (please only suggest brands available in New Zealand)

My puppy will be 6 Weeks on the 19/12/07.

Thanks :D

Puppy's With Sensitive Skin... What Can I Use?
The best thing to do is when you get your puppy bring him or her to the vet. The puppy is going to need vaccs if she is 6 weeks anyway and have an exam done. Let your vet know about the mother and farther. I work at a vet and the best thing is to have a doc take care of it. They can give you meds that will help from the inside out.
Reply:Avon skin so soft. it kills fleas %26amp; moistures the dogs skin. hope this helps. :)
Reply:If your pup does have sensitive skin, it could also pose a problem with its coat too! Either way, I have found that the vitamin Omega 3 Fatty Acid FISH OIL, is WONDERFUL for skin and coat problems, and it is also good for their heart too!! The pill is rather large for a small dog, so use a tooth pick to poke a hole at the end of the pill and pour its contents on something the dog likes to eat, he/she will have very good skin and hair in a matter of a couple of weeks, I would not have believed the difference if I had not seen it for myself!! Good Luck to you and your new Babe!!!!
Reply:Frontline is very safe and mild. It is labeled in the US for puppies over 8 weeks of age.
Reply:you can buy food that contains things that will help with sensitive skin. There are also shampoos that are made for dogs with sensitive skin.
Reply:Same here. I was told to put my dog on Nutro dog food. that in three weeks I would not beleive the difference. I am telling you, I had no idea the difference in Dog Food.

Also the price varies from place to place. Nutro also carries the treats.

I hope I saved you some vet cost $$$

Another thing that works for that shiney coat.

Boil 6 cups of water, take off heat. stir in 2 cups of old fashion oats. stir and stir until the water is cloudy.

Set this mixture aside to cool. Strain the water from the oatmeal.

After bathing your dog. use this oatmeal water as a .

final rinse. Try to leave this on your dog for at least 10 mins. then give a final rinse.

You have a dog with a coat that is so conditioned you wont beleive the shine and softness. I even take this water to the vet when they bathe him.

Good Luck
Reply:Just get a proper flea treatment from a vets, like Frontline or Revolution - these are all a lot better for the skin that fleas are. Fleas are about the worst thing for an animal's skin, even one that isn't sensitive. Don't get any store bought flea treatments.

I have sensitive skin?
Many people with sensitive skin issues have a tendency to go the over-the-counter route and get a cleaner called Cetaphil, with success. You can always go the more natural route (more than likely the health food store) and get a natural cleanser or facial bar soap with oatmeal extract (PERFECT for sensitive skin), or even a bar soap with added essential oils tailored to your specific issues. Of course, the natural route may be a little more expensive than what you can pick up in a drug store, but if you only have access to a drug store, try Aveeno's line of products, which have oatmeal in them as well. Also, to close your pores, you need an astringent/toner. Since you have sensitive skin, I suggest getting a bottle of aloe vera gel (i.e. Lily of the desert or GNC), keep it in the refrigerator (to keep it fresh and cold), and after you cleanse your face with warm water, put some cold aloe vera on a cotton ball and wipe your face over it to close those pores. Hope this helps!
Reply:neutrogena has some good sensitive skin products. to get the best results possible i would go see a dermatologist.

Sensitive skin? Sun allergy? Rosacea? What is this!?

I’ve always had slightly reddish skin on my cheeks, nose, and chin, and have always flushed very easily (people must think I’m embarrassed all the time, but I’m not). I recently read about rosacea and immediately thought that I must have it. But I have other symptoms that rosacea is not supposed to cause…

Sometimes my face flushes for absolutely no reason, and feels hot and irritated at the same time. My skin turns bright red, feels like it is being stretched, and even feels hot to the touch, like I’m feverish. It also feels like every ounce of moisture has simply left my skin. It’s EXACTLY like the feeling of sitting too close to a campfire. I’ve tried pinpointing foods, alcohol, skin care products that I use, clothes I wear, etc., and I can’t find a trigger. I know that physical exertion, warm temperatures, and bright sunlight definitely make it worse, but it happens sometimes when none of these factors are present.

These “attacks” have been happening to some degree for over 5 years now (I’m almost 29), but for the last year or so they seem to have become much more frequent. Now that summer is here (which means more heat and sunlight), it’s happening nearly every day. I’m embarrassed to go out in public with people because I’m afraid my face is going to light up.

Could I have rosacea AND sensitive skin? Or could this be something else entirely?

Sensitive skin? Sun allergy? Rosacea? What is this!?
Go to your dermatologist and have them diagnose it.
Reply:I would get checked for lupus. It is a connective tissue disorder and this is one of the symptoms. Sorry, it is not a good disease.
Reply:I don't know if it is rosacea because one of my white friends has it and I think it was a condition she had for most of her life. I don't think that it can just occur especially in your 20s. But you could have a sensitive skin condition.

You should definitely see a dermatologist.
Reply:I suspect you damaged your skin from repeated exposure to heat which can be confused with rosacea. My suggestion is too strictly avoid heat including all forms for two years. This includes the heat from the sun(suntanning), saunas, steam from cooking, sitting under hot lights, etc. On hot days, avoid putting suntan lotion, heavy makeup, or heavy moisturing on your skin. The oils and lotions will trap in the heat. When you excercise, take a water bottle and spray your face to keep your skin cool. Don't put steroid creams on your face, they thin the skin(atrophy). Spicey food and hot drinks will still cause your skin to flush because you have thin skin and a reduced ability to sweat on your face. I left you the link of the name of the condition I think you have. You don't need to have mottle skin to have it, just redness(erythema).

Sensitive and bad skin?

I have very rough sensitive skin with mild acne scarring. I don't really have acne anymore, just a few clogged pores here %26amp; there. but my skin is VERY pink and blotchy and my pores are enormous. basically my skin texture is awful.

people have suggested exfoliation, but thats a HUGE problem too as my skin is so sensitive and gets irritated and rashy from any strong chemicals. it tends to dry out and flake easily, and is much whiter and pinker than the rest of my skin, its been exfoliated to death.

i do wear makeup to cover it, but the makeup makes it look drier.

any suggestions? on any of the above? heh.

Sensitive and bad skin?
Try to see a specialist who can tell you the root of your problem and probably suggest an effective way to deal with it. There are way too many products on the shelves for you to be able to work out what's best for you.

One thing I can suggest for scarred, dry and very sensitive skin is wheat germ oil. I got it from the Body shop (after I had stitches in my face from a dog bite) because the doctor told me it was a good skin healer to rub in at night. When I used it I soon realised that it works better than any moisturiser Ive ever tried and it doesn't have perfume for your sensitive skin to react to.

I've looked in the body shop website but I cant see it there now so I'll link some I find in the sources below, it's not expensive stuff and you dont need very much - it's VERY oily. I'd seriusly suggest trying it, I swear by it.

Hope this helps you out.

PS Im noticing these seem to say it's for eating but mine was in a small bottle from the body shop and it was for rubbing onto your skin - you can probably do both with it.

Dry, sensitive skin??

i have dry sensitive skin. I usually break out when my skin dosent like a clenser. It also dosent help that i have exzema. Right now i use the Neutrogena Wave and Clearisil dail face wash for sensitive skin. I want a good, i mean GOOD cleanser/ face wash that my skin wont react to, and eaves my skin smooth, zit free, and not blotchy. Any suggestions?? Links?? Quizzes???

Dry, sensitive skin??
Omg i have the SAME problem! I found that im alergic to a chemical in certain cleansers called salicylic acid. And it makes me break out really really bad!!! Right now Im using cetaphil and cetaphil daily moisterizer. I really really like it and its really moisterizing and I totally recomend it to anyone with really sensetive dry skin. I also found out that the nutrogena product that I was using before (nutrogena extra gentle cleanser) was not moisterizing my skin but drying out problem area like my forehead and around my nose even more. I really hopeyou make the switch over because Im really really happy with the way it moisterizes and cleans my skin! Good luck =D
Reply:Cetaphil Gentle Daily Cleanser is great for those who have very sensitive skin, particularly those who have acne/rosacea problems.
Reply:Clearasil probably isn't the best option in my opinion. I understand how frustrating having sensetive dry skin is, meanwhile pimples keep popping up!

Try a neutrogena cleansing milk for sensetive skin. Sometimes gently rubbing your face with a washer covered in the cleansing milk and water will help reduce the rash caused by irritation.

Generally with age these skin problems decrease, or so I have found. Also I purchased a pricey facial cleanser by 'JM' from a beautician and my skin has improved so much, but i'm not sure how much your'e willing to spend. Also use mineral based make-up, this won't clog pores or irritate sensetive skin. It also looks much better and nicely covers blemishes. I use 'glominerals' powder.

Also try cetaphil for moisturising, perfumed moisturisers can be hell for sensetive skin.

Good luck :)
Reply:Dry skin types have to be extremely careful to protect their skin. Yogurt-honey combination helps dry skin. Make an egg pack with a yolk, a teaspoon of honey, a tablespoon of milk powder. Extremely sensitive skin... how should I shave my legs?

Every time I shave my legs, my skin rips. It's pretty painful. Since it's summer, I need to wear shorts and skirts all the time, but I'm really ashamed of my scar-y legs. What should I do?

Also, my skin gets very itchy after shaving. (so much that I can't help but scratch it.. and then the skin tears again). I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to anything from Bath %26amp; Body Works, so does anyone know of lotions/creams that are good for sensitive skin?

(By the way, right now my routine is using Aveeno body wash for sensitive skin to shave, and then putting on Eucerin anti itch cream after shaving. It's not working as well as it should)

Any help is much appreciated!!

Extremely sensitive skin... how should I shave my legs?
One of my own favorites is, massaging in jojoba oil, which is a great natural ph balancer for the skin. (Available at health food stores). If not that, then olive oil. A little goes a long way, and both will help with your sensitivity before shaving. Then, at your local grocery store get a small box of whipping cream. You will need an electric mixer; hand held is what I use. And beat at low, adjusting to high once the whipping cream starts to thicken. You will know it's done when it resembles Cool Whip. This is pure cream and very soothing to your skin. Milk afterall is a natural skin softener. Look at Cleopatra and her milk baths. Apply to your legs, not heavily and shave. You shouldn't have any problems with your skin becoming painful.

You can store the leftover cream in an air-tight container for about a week, and you can also use this on your face as a mask. Leave on for 5 minutes then rinse off in cool water.

What's so great about this is, it's natural without any harmful chemicals which cause an allergic reaction with sensitivity to your skin.

Enjoy!
Reply:use the shave cream from aveeno and see ur dermatologist-u might need mediciated lotion for ur legs-the aveeno shave cream helps u shave less often-
Reply:umm i think there is some shaving products by "Nair" for sensative skin. i think it is defiantly worth a try.

hope it helps
Reply:My daughter and I have sensitive skin and we just started to use the Venus Breeze and it is working great so far. Also don't use lotions after shaving for up to 10 hours.
Reply:Make sure you buy razors for sensitive skin. Also buy shaving cream that's meant for sensitive skin. Use a lot of the cream, do it slowly and carefully. I think you'll have good results. Good luck!!
Reply:well first of all, THROW OUT THE RAZORS! i mean, that could really give your skin infections. go to the drugstore like walgreens and find an electrical razor(the one that pulls the hair out). it's more painful, but you wouldnt have to shave your legs as often. the metal shouldnt irritate your skin, but if it does, go get your legs waxed, or try the "nair" products. if none of those work, get lazer surgery on your legs. it may be a little expensive, but it's better than having an infected leg.
Reply:Nivea skin care products. They add very needed moisture and is very gentle. I'm the same way. Don't use soap to shave unless it is Ivory (clogs pores and dries skin), gilette sensitive skin shaving cream is okay. Bathe with oatmeal, baking soda or epsom salts in the bath, to help your skin retain its moisture.
Reply:hi. my sister said that instead of shaving your legs you can buy "nair." in case you dont know what that is, it is a lotion/cream that you rub on your legs and leave it on for like 5 minutes. then, you wipe it off and it removes the hair. you can buy it at any regular store for a cheap price. good luck!
Reply:Oh Gosh! I cringed when I read your question. I am so sorry that you have had to endure so much. Ok, first, your razor has to be very sharp or it will tear and leave a red rash. Also, the products you are using have 'known irritants' in them. They are used as fillers because they are inexpensive but they cause numerous people lots of problems. Fragrances, chemical dyes, harmful alcohols among others are very irritating. Also, any product that uses Mineral oils, vaseline, petroleum, glycerin. These are all derivatives of crude oil. (Yuck!) These ingredients are occlusive meaning they block your pores so no moisture can get in and toxins can not get out. No matter what "beneficial" ingredients are in that product, they will never get into the deep layers to heal your skin. They just sit on top like saran wrap. Blocking everything. Your skin can not breath. Animal by-products or human by-products are just discusting and should never be used in our skin care products. (Google "Animal Rendering Plants". You will be shocked.) Fragrances are used to mask the stench of that fowl smelling stuff. You need to try Arbonne's Intelligence line or even the Baby Care line, which is for very sensitive skins. TRUTH! Arbonne uses ONLY Pure, Safe and Beneficial ingredients. We are a European Health and Wellness Company. All 400 of our products are botanical and herbal based. We own our own formulas which are patented. There isn't anything else like them on the market. Check out www.CindieReed.myarbonne.com and click on "Products".
Reply:Go to a health food store and get as bottle of unscented apricot kernal , almond, or rice bran oil.

You can use it to shave and also mix it with your favorite lotion to heal your dry skin.

It sounds like you have an allergy to whatever cream, soap or shower gel you are using . Try something gentle even one of those baby bars from cvs and see if the itching goes down,

I like to use handamde oatmeal soap. I get it all sorts of places online and offline at health food stores. It seems to cure the itch .

http://susansoaps.com/oatmeal_honey_6.ht...

You can also take a warm bath and add a cup of whipping cream or milk. Even soy milk seems to work. The lactic acid in the milk softens up your skin.

Adding oats feels great too provided you put them in a tea strainer or muslin bag.

Good luck
Reply:Arbonne?? Their products may work, but I would definitely try else where first. Keep in mind each time you buy an Arbonne product you are supporting a company that treats employees horribly. A couple years ago it was bought by Harvest Partners and since then the company has just been about profit. They don't care about their employees, the unethical practices of upper management or of many of their consultants. They took want was once a decent company and destroyed it. Trying to force it into a corporate giant. Forcing employees to work 12+ hours for days at a time was not unusual when I was there. Please do not support this establishment
Reply:Use a cream hair removal ummm..... you can find it at wal-mart.
Reply:Well, I was going to suggest Aveeno products. Get the Aveeno shaving gel to use as well. Also, DO NOT USE A CHEAP razor. The disposable ones mess my legs up, too. Get one that you can change the blades on. I use Venus razors. I think they are good. You will probably need to change the blade out frequently when it starts to get dull. Maybe you could see a dermatologist as well. They may could tell you what ingredients you are allergic to.
Reply:I suggest Mary Kay's shave and body lotion, we carry a line a skin care products for all skin types and all ages.

check it out for yourself.

Good Luck!
Reply:use shaving cream and make sure to rub some sort of moisturiser with a cooling agent like aloe in afterwards. also, dont go against the grain. you'll be fine!

I need help chosing products for sensitive skin?

I have pale, sensitive skin (Irish roots =p). I am using Aveeno Skin Brightening Daily Scrub (love it!). I can't decide between Neutrgoena Sensitive Skin Solutions Cleansing Wash or Aveeno Ultra-Calming Foaming Cleanser. I also can't decide between Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion for Sensitive Skin or Garnier Nutritioniste Daily Regenerating Moisture Lotion SPF 15. Does the Garnier one work for sensitive skin or does it irritate it?

If you have sensitive skin (or not), I would like to know what you think of these products or other products. Please keep in mind that I have sensitive skin, thank you for your help!

I need help chosing products for sensitive skin?
I also have sensitive skin. I LOVE the Aveeno Untra Calming...I have been using it for a few years now.

For moisurizer...I use Olay for Sensitive skin (it is simple) They also have a moisturizer with sunscreen. I typically put on my regular moisturizer Olay for Sensitive Skin, let that absorb a little then put the sunscreen moisturizer on.

Skip anything abrasive (that means scrubs) it will cause redness. If I feel I need a scrub, I mix some baking soda and peroxide together...the peroxide kills bacteria. If you have relatively clear skin some water mixed with baking soda is a very mild scrub.
Reply:cocoa butter lotion
Reply:Definetly use something that will be soft on your skin and not scrub as much. Scrubbing and tear your skin and widen your pore, and eveyone knows that having good skin has some to do with having small pores. :) %26lt;3
Reply:hi emily. i have really sensitive skin and have tried all kinds of skin products and makeup, spending money on brands from neutrogoena to chanel. if this helps save you from wasting as much money as i did, as well as saving your face from becoming irritated, i hope it helps. if your face is very sensitive, try natural products. i use origins: liquid crystal, swept away, comforting solution and constant comforter. if you visit the store or counter the salespeople are usually very nice and helpful. if your skin is irritated from another product, it will take a couple weeks to clear it up. for makeup, try bare minerals. some of the others look caked on and fake.

hope this helps!

Sensitive skin, waxing vs shaving?

I have sensitive skin. if i shave my bikini area, i will get the little red razor burn bumps. no avoiding it. I can use a brand new razor, aveeno sensitive skin shave gel, and bikini zone cream afterward. it doesn't help. I usually just skip the more sensitive areas, but im going to Waikiki in a couple months and skipping areas wont cut it in a bikini!! ... i know there HAS to SOMETHING that i can do.. I definately can't walk around the beach in pain from shaving my bikini area. . I'm thinking about trying waxing to see if it works better... ladies with sesitive skin that have tried both, how do you feel about waxing? was it less harsh than shaving? Also, If i were to wax i would go get it done, not do it myself. So i don't need tips on how to wax. thx.

Sensitive skin, waxing vs shaving?
Maybe you can try below website to get the information you need. It's about hair rewmoval articles including for sensitive skin for your second opinion.
Reply:i've used wax on the bikini line before (and i have very sensitive skin) and it actually left the area really raw and it bled. it was an awful mess. it went away quickly, but it still didn't look that attractive. if you are only trying to get rid of the hair around your bikini line, you could try using a nair product. there's one called "nair pretty" and it smells like peach. i've used that before and it's really nice! i also use the intuition shaver with the cartridges for sensitive skin when i want to remove a lot of hair down there, and that works well. if you try shaving again, first shave in the direction of the hair until the hairs are really really short. afterwards, hold the skin taut and shave against the hairs.

Guinea pig sensitive skin issue?

Aloha! I have a long haired guinea pig, who has severely sensitive skin. She's seen by a vet on a yearly basis, and everything they've given me for her skin SUCKS. She does NOT have mites or any fungus, but her skin ,mostly by her back fur is just red red red. Its so sensitive. :( I just gave her a HUGE hair cut, because brushing her has become painful to her. She LOVES the short hair though, popcorning and everything. She feels so much better. I just dont know what to do for her skin. The vet recommends this and that and this and that, and has given me this and that and this and that. But again, it all sucks. What can I use to relieve her from this sensitive skin!! I feel so bad for her, and just with for her to be comfertable. Is there anything orally I can give her that will reduce sensitive skin? I tell you, she's got the worst personality to have long hair!! Any advice would be much appriciated. Thanks!!

Guinea pig sensitive skin issue?
I have a teddy piggie that has very dry and sensitive skin. I also work w/ a rescue that has recommend that I wash her w/ Selsun blue shampoo. Normally, we don't recommend washing piggies w/ human shampoo but they swear that this works for teddies and texel piggies which are prone to skin issues. I hope this helps. Sounds like your poor baby is having a rough time of it. What kind of bedding do you use? You may want to change to something different. I use fleece (w/ a layer of puppy pads/newspaper then folded towels on top of those and then the fleece). The fleece wicks away the moisture. Or there's always aspen which is pretty good or Carefresh. Good luck!

Sensitive skin and blemishes?

I am having the worst time with my skin for the past .. I'd say, month now.

I got sunburnt and after that everything went down hill.

My face has been a lot more oily, I don't recall a time in the past having oily skin.

Usually if I do breakout my skin clears up within two weeks.

This month I got my period twice, which could be a contributing factor but I am not so sure.

I finally found a facewash for sensitive skin and I have been using it morning and night (as it says) for the past week and a half.

Everytime an area of my face clears up, it seems that another area has a breakout.

I recently quit smoking, and had to stop drinking caffeine (soda especially). I've been drinking plenty of water probably 6 bottles a day and maybe one soda.

I am almost positive I am allergic to salyic acid so I can't use any of the topical acne medicines. I have sensitive skin.

What can I do to clear up my skin? and prevent future breakouts.

I am about to start Ortho Tricyclen

Sensitive skin and blemishes?
Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash is excellent for daily cleansing. It's for sensitive skin, it's soap-free, oil-free, hypoallergenic (won't cause allergies) and non-comedogenic (won't clog pores)

Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask works for me.

It can be used as a cleanser or a Mask. Since you have sensitive skin this product should be used 1x a week as a mask for 2-3 minutes. It contains Benzoyl Peroxide.

I've read that products with Benzoyl Peroxide are better for people who suffer from acne. Products containing Salicylic Acid can cause breakouts rather than clearing them up in cases pertaining to acne.

**Proactiv contains Benzoyl Peroxide**

**Ortho-Tricyclen or Ortho-Tricyclen Lo work wonders for the skin***

First of all, all of the products your using may have chemicals.

You need natural products to eliminate and prevent from further beakouts. BeautiControl offers that. E mail me at : beauticontrol06.com, you won't regret it. I know I didn't
Reply:I went through some of the same problems you did, I began to use Noxzema for regular skin -my skin is sensitive to everything, but Noxzema for sensitive skin made my face break out - as does many sensitve skin products. Try something simple like that. I wash my fash in the morning and at night. Be certain to wash all make-up brushes, sponges, etc... once a week. They carry many germs that can cause breakouts. Good luck sweetie.

Extremely sensitive skin?

hey. im a 21 yr old female with extremely sensitive skin. its pretty fair and i always burn before i tan. i have acne but not as bad as when i was a teenager. although i still breakout. my skin isnt dry its red and irritated. i cant use face washes with medication in it.. and they must be fragrance free or else ill have an allergic reaction and ill be bright red. ive used something as sensitive as Cetaphil twice a day with no acne products afterwards and even that irritated my skin. especially when i take a shower... anyways i was wondering if i had rosceca.. and if not what can i use for my skin? i need a face wash, toner, and lotion for the MOST sensitive skin.. im rarely completely white.. my skin is usually looking red or at least pinkish at times..=/

Extremely sensitive skin?
If you have sensitive skin, do not use facial washes or soap; instead use a light, hypoallergenic cleansing lotion. Use a moisturizer to strengthen your skin and provide a barrier against irritants. Make sure you use an non perfumed moisturizer, which will not irritate your skin.check out http://tipsfromruby-skincare.blogspot.co...
Reply:Sounds like Rosacea, usually Drs will prescribe a pill for that or could be treated wtih a laser. The laser will be more effective. For the dry Skin, try Eucerin Cream or Aquaphor. Any dermatologist will recommend those lotions :)
Reply:Use LESS not more chemicals. Any thing you put on your skin is absorbed in your body. I too have very sensitive skin.

check out your laundry soap, remember you wash your towels and pillowcases in it also. Use a Free and Clear type available in most all brands. I use zest bath soap, i use ponds dry skin cream all over, Soak in a tub with Epsom salt to relieve dry skin. Stay out of the sun You pay for that tan later on. why do you think all the beauty queens are using botox now.?

Some product for sensitive skin doesn't suit the people with sensitive skin. How can i know which product suit?

some product for sensitive skin actually makes skin drier although it has a 'for sensitive skin' and 'won't dry skin' label on it.And, different product works for different skin though all the product are for sensitive skin. So,how can you know which product actually works for you and won't dry skin.Is there a need to read the ingredients of the product? Or maybe there is a specific ingredient to be looked for when we are buying any product for sensitive skin?

Some product for sensitive skin doesn't suit the people with sensitive skin. How can i know which product suit?
you just need to keep trying until you find one which suits you.
Reply:I've found only trial and error works for me. You might want to stop at a dermatologist's office and see if you could get some samples of products to try instead of buying.
Reply:trial of the product is the only way to know its efficacy.

Sensitive skin?

i have two spots that i got on my penis and they are supersensitive when touched. what does this mean?

Sensitive skin?
It means you need to see a doctor...unless you are just talking sensitive as in sexual function...then tahts normal.

Sensitive skin?

My legs feel like they are burning, the inside of my thighs, and that do not touch,

there are no rash or red marks. What's going on?

Sensitive skin?
Sounds like a reaction to either soap, water, or your clothes.

If its soap, you have to change the soap you wash with and use moisturizer after each shower. You should change to something that is fragrance free like Cetaphil. Same goes for the lotion. Either Cetaphil or Eucerine.

If you have municipal water. it could be the chemical additives they use to kill bacteria. It's usually chlorine, and usually at very high levels. If you own your home, you could get a water softener and carbon filter, that would take care of anything that could be irritating your skin. If you rent, you could get a chlorine filter for your shower head. They are usually sold in natural food stores and online.

If it's your laundry soap. You should change to something that is free from dyes, perfumes, and optical brighteners.

I would recommend Seventh Generation brand if you can get it. Some people do do fine with Tide free and clear.

You could also try only wearing cotton clothes and avoiding anything made from wool, cashmier, and man made fibers.
Reply:See your doctor.

Okay. So what do I do when I shaved my bikini line for the first time and now I have a huge rash? It's really itchy and it is red.. Is there any way to get the irritation to go down? I didn't realize it would bother my skin this much and I am going to Florida tomorrow! Please help... I will be living in my bikini for the next few days...

Sensitive Skin?
A little calamine would help you too. Take gud care and dont use ur nails to itch it. It will only go worse. Keep urself clean. This is very common with me when i wax my legs at the parlour. I prefer doing it myself now and i dont have to bother about rash anymore.
Reply:Ugh no fun!

Try a little talcum gold bond on the area -

don't scratch - a little witch hazel before this may burn but soothe - or add a little aloe.

Sensitive Skin?

My face became sensitive because of the face wash I've used in the past. Is there a way to reverse it or make it healthier?

Sensitive Skin?
I also have sensitive skin and my dermatologist recommended "Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser" as an everyday facewash before bed. It's sold in most grocery stores and drug stores, and it doesn't dry out the skin.
Reply:Keep it clean and moist. Try Softsoap sensitive skin soap
Reply:my face was sensitive and i use clearisil and it works good.......good luck!!

Lately the back of my hand has been really sensitive to touch. When I touch it, it feels really weird, it doesnt necessarily hurt, but in a way i does. Does anyone know what I am talking about? If you do, do you know of a way to make it stop? Thank you!!

Sensitive skin?
Often in the winter our skin is drier and more sensitive. Try using a good, basic (no heavy perfumes) hand cream to soothe your skin.

If your hands are dry...chances are the rest of you is, too (your hands are just exposed so much more). A nice bath with a bit of bath oil would probably feel great and your skin would just drink up the moisture!
Reply:Really dry skin?? If that's the case get a good lotion- alcohol free if you can find one. Other than that, I'm not sure.
Reply:I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes, it happens to my arm. It is not painful. but it is really tender. This happens to me every so often, and I have not found anything that I can do to prevent it.
Reply:well..........

you better go to the doctor or skin speciallist............

i dont think this is the case of a sensitive skin....................

how do you know if you have sensitive skin?

Sensitive skin?
Coincidence...I think not...lol. I just read an article about that very subject. check it out here.

Sensitive Skin?

Are there any products to reduce redness for people with sensitive skin?

Sensitive Skin?
You can buy any priced product as long as it says hypo-allergenic. Avoid anything that has a fragrance. Also, look for dermatological tested
Reply:lotion fo rpeople with sensitive skin. walmart is wehre you can find it.
Reply:probably.

i use a 'sensitive skin' shaving cream when i shave my face, you know, where i grow my beard.
Reply:yes. anything that says "calming" on it. Aveeno makes sensitive skin products. usually the containers are a pale pink color.
Reply:hydrocortizone. works wonders on my eczema but its expensive as hell and runs out fast
Reply:There are plenty of products but I will recommend Lubriderm or Nivea that are available in every pharmacy but of course Walmart being the cheapest.
Reply:La roche posay product, gentle on sensitive skin. They have products for reactive skin.

Sensitive skin?

My skin is so sensitive it's not even funny. is there any products I can use to help it? If so where could I get them?

Thanks!

Sensitive skin?
I have sensitive skin too %26amp; this is what I do:

1) avoid products w/ the following preservatives: quartenium-15, formaldehyde, DMDM hydantoin

2) avoid heavily scented products; try to find fragrance-free alternatives

3) avoid products w/ menthol, mint, eucalyptus or citrus oils

Some of my favorite drugstore/mass market products are:

Cetaphil soap %26amp; lotion, Eucerin lotion and Gentle Hydrating Cleanser (white bottle/pink label; http://eucerinus.com/products/face_hclea... , Dove cleasing bar for sensitive skin, Aquaphor Healing Ointment

Here's the link to an ingredient dictionary:

http://www.cosmeticscop.com/learn/dictio...

I sometimes refer to it before buying a product to check any unfamiliar ingredients.

Reply:Aveno is great!!! %26amp; Oil of Olay. I have sensitive skin, I use both!!
Reply:my skin is super sensitive i usualy use lubriderm were you can pretty much find anywere!
Reply:Sensitive skin usually benefits from stuff that is frangrance free, have you tried baby oil or products for children as they can be very gentle on the skin.

Failing that, natural remedies like essential oils and creams would benefit your skin whilst keeping it hydrated it would also be very gentle on your skin.

Depending where you live I would suggest try your local health shop, your pharmacist is also a fountain of knowledge and can direct you to some products more designed for really sensitive skin or your Doctor who could refer you to a skin specialist you could give you some creams to combat sensitivity.
Reply:Avon makes good sensitive skin creams makeup......

check out Avon it helped me in many ways
Reply:Sensitive skin can usually react to most popular products, so dont be fooled by their adverts. The only products that wont react to sensitive skin are natural/organic products. Like you, i also have VERY sensitive skin, any cream i put on my face will make it worst!!.. BUT.. this is where 'Dr.Hauschka' comes in!!.. Ever hurd of this make?? well if you havent i suggest you try it out.. im possitive it will help..

Dr Hauschka products are natural products, they dont contain any nasty things that will upset your skin. And they work wonders!. They have so many products for all skin types..

I dont know were you live, but they have a website u can buy from and they also have a number of their products on ebay!!! and they sell most of their stuff in health food stores!.. its great if you try the products out.. its so soft on skin, its even for littles babies to use.. which is great, cuz that shows you how soft it is on skin.. They also have consultations which are great, beacuse you get a one on one chat with a specilist and they can take a look at your skin and suggest you whats best to use...

Hope this is good info for you..

Sensitive skin?

The past few days, my skin has been extremely sensitive. Whenever i even touch an area on my stomach, a red mark/dent immediately appears and takes a while to dissappear. What could this be from?

Sensitive skin?
If your skin is indenting when you touch it, you should get it checked out. You could be having edema (swelling of your stomach).
Reply:Sun Damage, do you tan regularly?

Sensitive skin???

How can I exfoliate if I have sensitive skin???

Sensitive skin???
Use a chemical exfoliant. Alpha Hydroxy is a chemical that exfoliants without abrasively irritating your skin, and I've seen Alpha Hydoxy creams and treatments at Walgreens. If you have the money, try going to a skin care counter at Nordstrom or Macy's and tell them you're interested in a chemical exfoliant.
Reply:use mild exfoliating scrubs and don't use it too often.

if you like to wash ur face twice a day, use a normal washer. like nivea or garnier.. they suit just about anyone.

if you mean on your legs or somewhere else, just use mile-normal scrubs. i'd try also using natural one.. go to www.makeyourcosmetics.com they have good home made recepies for them

but yeah, don't wash too often and follow with nice mosturizer.
Reply:i have really sensitive skin. If you are talking about face wash or something, use Clearasil ultra cleansing scrub. Then use a really good moisturizer with no oils.
Reply:I am a Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics. I use and recommend the Microdermabrasion Set for exfoliating on the face. For more information, go to the site below and feel free to contact me if you have any questions! Good luck!

Sensitive skin?
I have the same trouble. You need to look for makeup that is hypoallergenic. These are products that lack the most common skin irritants. Never wear anything else! Breaking out means that you're having a mild allergic reaction to the harsh chemicals in regular makeup (that no one should be wearing anyway). Although everything you wear needs to say hypoallergenic on it, also look for 100% unscented or organic or "mineral" makeups.

Be selective. Brands like Almay are a good place to start, but even products that claim to be natural or unscented can have things in it that your skin won't like. Try small product lines rather than discount store items, and choose products that have a full ingredient list, so you know exactly what you're wearing. Most of all, wear as little makeup as possible; brush on a hint of color if you must, but it's just not worth it to torture your skin.

The source page features a good list of additives to avoid, and even a few decent brand names. Hope this helps! :)
Reply:Look for Almay products. They're hypo-allergenic.
Reply:bare minerals will most likely work for you
Reply:I don't think your question is weird at all. My mother has very sensitive skin and I know that the only products that work for her is Clinique. Try asking a Clinique representative at any department store near you. One great thing is that you can have them do your makeup for you before you actually buy it. It's free to have your make-up done and then see how your skin reacts to the product.

Personally, I have very fair skin so I tend to show any blemish and often skip blush. I use nice makeup brushes and clean them often. I don't think that blush is a necessity for every day use.

Also, I don't know your age but your skin tends to change as you get older (or from a adolescence to adulthood). It also changes with the seasons.

Best of Luck

Sensitive Skin?

My skin is very sensitive. If someone were to flick me on the cheek, it would turn red and usually become slightly inflammed. Does anyone know why this happens and is there anyway for me to prevent this or possibly cure it? It's really annoying. Thanks :)

Sensitive Skin?
I've had it too, all my 49 years. I've never found any help for it. It can be inconvenient, that's for sure. But I just tell myself I could have a lot worse things, and I should be glad if this is the worst I get. Good luck!

Sensitive skin?

My skin used to be healthy and nice like my friends and other people. But lately, it's gotten really sensitive. For example, when I scratch it ever so slightly, it starts swelling up like a balloon. My uncle says it's because I don't sweat or get exercise enough. I'm not really sure what's wrong with me. It's not a big health problem, but I'm asking just to make sure. What's the cause for my skin's sensitivity?

Sensitive skin?
Sweety I think you should go see a dermotologist. That sounds strange.

Sensitive skin?

I have very sensitive skin and break out easily. If I touch my face and I've forgotten to wash my hands I'll get a blemish in that spot. Everything I use seems to break me out worse. So I haven't come up with a daily routine yet. I have darker skin pigment and have tried only a few things (didn't want to chance it without advice first).

Would try another Derma Doc but its been too expensive in the past and with no real results. Any ideas?

Sensitive skin?
hi

Reply:try using cetaphil,.. u can use it to wash ur sensitive skin ,..

it is very very very mild try it
Reply:You may need more vitamins C in your diet. This provides your skin with antioxidants which keep your skin healthy and fight against bacteria. Also if you use cotton pads to wash your face with a very light astrigent cleaner and a light oil based moisturizer this will keep bacteria from easily being spread from one place to your face.
Reply:I'm sure you have heard other people tell you this before but try the Proactiv Solution. The thing is you have use it exactly the way the tell you too. Which is once a day to make sure the skin will adjust ok. After that twice a day. I have very senstive skin also. Trust me I'm going though the same thing you are. I would sent you a picture of me but I don't want to scare you. When I used Proactiv it worked great controling my breakout and clearing up my skin. Yes result do vary from person to person. I would still be using it if I wasn't broke. It is a expensive at $20-$50 dollars a month. The basic kit works cool. You can control how many kits they sent you and stuff. Good luck.

Reply:carry a small bottle of antibacterial gel in your purse, this will take care of the one of the issues. try and put a skin sensitive lotion on your face like a protective layer against the climate and everything else.
